As a lesbian, I have to say this is not a gunshot to the heart through a random open window like so many other lgbtqia+ series. Everything that happens is so crucial to Baru’s character. I highly recommend reading the entire series as Baru is one of the most well developed female characters I have ever read. My favorite book is the Tyrant. Stick around as the world building and character development is intense! Baru is a wild child!

I love the way Seth Dickinson writes Baru. She is one of the most well developed female characters I have ever read. I highly recommend this series. The clinical way of writing is juxtaposed with Baru and her sexuality and I love it. She’ll be talking about the intricate was of the economy and then she’ll think of a woman and it gets suddenly spicy. It all flows and makes sense and I love all the characters and how Baru interacts with them. She is a wild child.

This is my favorite book series. I am now in college and it is still my favorite book series!! The in-depth plots and excellent narrations are amazing!! It is something else to have a female protagonist so vivaciously and hilariously going through the world. The series deals with deep topics, all while maintaining a thrilling atmosphere of adventure.
