Historia
It’s all Tinkler’s fault. If it weren’t for his obsession with the 1970s band Black Dog, none of this would have happened. The members of Black Dog performed an infamous publicity stunt on Halig Island: they burned a million dollars on an enormous bonfire. But the stunt backfired, splitting the band for good and increasing the value of their final, recalled album tenfold.

Historia
Thinking that she has been summoned by German immigrant Agnes Otto to usher a new life into the world, midwife Sarah Brandt is greeted by the news of an untimely death instead. It seems that Agnes' beautiful younger sister, Gerda, had fallen into the life of a "charity girl". Caught up in the false glamour of the city's nightlife, she would trade her company and her favors for lavish gifts. And now she was dead - victim, no doubt, of one of her "gentlemen friends".

Gav isn't really sure how he ended up with a castle full of goblins, or why he has a princess locked in a cell. All he can do is play along with his own evil plan in hopes of getting his memories back before he gets himself killed. But as he realizes that nothing—from the incredibly tasteless cloak adorned with flames to the aforementioned princess—is quite what it seems, Gav must face up to all the things the Dread Lord Gavrax has done. And he'll have to answer the hardest question of all—who does he want to be?

Excellent Story & Excellent Narration!
Revisado: 12-07-24
Fun, quirky, well written, with great narration! What else could anyone want?
The author succeeded from page one in developing a like of the main character as he struggled to find himself, literally.
She kept it going with witty writing, great secondary characters and humor. Not silliness but we'll thought out, life kicks you in the ass sometimes, type humor.
The narrator was awesome! Kept the characters real and the story flowing.
L.G. Estrella, watch your back! There's a new kid in town and her name is Caitlan!

Historia
The beloved King Ik is dead, and there was barely time to check his pulse before the royal throne was supporting the suspiciously shapely backside of an impostor pretending to be Ik's beautiful, long-lost daughter. With the land's heroic hunks busy drooling all over themselves, there's only one man left who can save the kingdom of Jenair. His name is Dungar Loloth, a rural blacksmith turned innkeeper, a surly hermit, and an all-around nobody oozing toward middle age, compensating for a lack of height, looks, charm, and tact with guts and an attitude.

Stella is enjoying life as an almost student, or at least she is until a man falls from the sky right in front of her, leaving a big old hole in the pavement for Manchester Council to fill. The obvious question of how he ended up in the sky in the first place has no obvious answers, which is where The Stranger Times come in. This isn't just the hunt for another story though. Dark powers think Stella might have been involved and the only way she and the team can prove her innocence is to find out what the hell is really going on.

Great Narration & Entertaining
Revisado: 07-27-24
I love this series and C.K.'s books. Unfortunately, like many writers, especially European ones, he feels the need to throw in left-leaning commentary and loves to toss snide, incorrect, often unnecessary, comments about the U.S.
Like many books, I simply overlook or ignore this practice and enjoy the witty writing, laugh out loud, and wait for the next book by C.K.!

Tensions with the British, and with the Spanish in Florida, just a short way down the coast, are rising, and slaves are starting to become restless. Historia
No stranger to fear since meeting the unhuman Inspector Hobbes, Andy Caplet fears getting fired from his reporting job (again). His main concern, though, is a shady property developer who has designs on Sorenchester Common, and more annoyingly on his wife. Perhaps a trip to the mountains will help him relax, but this proves even more perilous with foul weather, inedible food, brigands, and a terrifying cruise. Fortunately, mountain leopards, Yetis and Flossy, the yak, take a shine to Andy.

Channeling his 20 years of experience on the issue, Daniel Miller takes the listener through the historical and cultural foundations of Texit, as well as its impact on mainstream politics, and plainly lays out the grievances expressed by many Texans that drive their support for an independent Texas. Texit also addresses the most common objections by using facts and sheds light on what a future Republic of Texas could look like.

Texit, a
Revisado: 02-29-24
The author laid out everything one needs to consider and decide whether to support an independent Texas or not.
The difference between "Texit" and secession, which are in fact very different, and why Texit is the best route.
Arguments and answers, pros, cons, realistic goals & time lines, legal issues, and a whole lotta other things are presented well and without unnecessary complications.
If, like me, you know that Texas would be much better off without the United States politically, economically, securely, socially, and every other way, this book is a must read!

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, doesn’t care much for witches. Still, he’s about to make nice with the local coven by signing a mutually beneficial nonaggression treaty - when suddenly the witch population in modern-day Tempe, Arizona, quadruples overnight. And the new girls are not just bad, they’re badasses with a dark history on the German side of World War II.

Entertaining, well written, FUN!
Revisado: 11-07-23
I have listened to a few titles from Mr. Hearne, and have enjoyed them all. The narration by Luke Daniels is well done & easy to listen to.
My only complaint with Hearne is something that seems to be a shared trait with many other authors of his age/generation.
A tendency to be anti-police or to paint all law enforcement as incompetent or crooked. An anti-American sentiment, as well as an anti-white male attitude. The blaming of most or all of the world's woes on America, white men, capitalism, industrious hardworking achievements, and climate change, damn near in that order.
While there are social, economic, climate, crime, and many other issues in today's world, I prefer not to have them constantly thrown into narratives, especially when most of the time the facts don't prove the narrative/agenda.
Overall, though, I do enjoy this author and narrator and HIGHLY recommend his books!
