Historia
Lord Rosemorran has purchased a wax figure of a beautiful reclining woman and asks Stoker to incorporate a clockwork mechanism to give the Rosemorran Collection its own Sleeping Beauty in the style of Madame Tussaud’s. But when Stoker goes to cut the mannequin open to insert the mechanism, he makes a gruesome discovery: this is no wax figure. The mannequin is the beautifully preserved body of a young woman who was once very much alive. But who would do such a dreadful thing, and why?

Perhaps my favorite in the series so far... And there have been a few I'd never say that about!

Audible, read the reviews before posting them!

Just want to make a note that the previous review moaning about go back to the Hebrides should learn how to use Google. This series was written years ago and is just now coming to Audible (the price might have been a tip off?!). Furthermore, the Shetland series by Cleeves is finished and there will be no more books in that series. However, she has a new series now. So there you go, Audible; I cleaned up the downright erroneous information you let the last reviewer publish.

This and the 1st book in the series are my favorites. It was a nice way to wrap things up; excellent historical details, descriptions, and flushed out characters, and as always, the narrator was excellent.

Least fave in series
Revisado: 03-22-22
First of all, the very 1st review of this book is actually a spoiler, which I did not appreciate. The book was so predictable that after reading this particular review I could quickly surmise what obviously happens at the end. Not cool.
Meanwhile, the storyline was slow, the narration shrill or unintelligible, depending on the character.
In closing, I do want to mention I have read all the other books in the series and really enjoyed it until now. So disappointing.

I love all the Shetland books, but this one was especially good. And all the Shetland books narrated by Kenny Blyth, including this one. are just so much better to listen to; I love what he does with the accents and narration (and I grew up in Scotland so I feel like I can attest to that part!). Two thumbs way up.
