Good story. Had the feel of a Honor Harrington book
Revisado: 11-27-22
The overall story was great.
As said in the title, it had a Honor Harrington feel to it. To me that is a good compliment. Young female office forced into a tough situation and has to grown beyond her current level of trying, skill, and self confidence.
I am hoping this will turn into a long series. I enjoyed several of the characters and would love to follow their story arcs as the series expands into more adventure and character development.

Great follow on to book 1
Revisado: 04-17-20
Easily become a fantasy fan with books like this. I love the narration team, easily my favorite team. A story just plays better with a male / female team.
May sound funny with death and demons, but I like that these books are clean compared to some others out there. No unnecessary cursing, darkness, and rape and pillaging.
So far both books have kept my interest. I like following the main characters and can not wait to see how they grow in future books.
The storyline is interesting with a nice blend of familiarity with most fantasy books, but still enough new imagination to keep you involved.
I would recommend both book 1 and book 2 while looking forward to book 3.

When a young ranger's apprentice named Owyn Lund discovers that the Arc of Radiance has been breached, he tries to warn anybody who will listen. But legends aren't supposed to be real. However, Zara Dennel, a mage's ward, has heard Owyn's tale - and she's inclined to believe him.

Very good start to a new fantasy series
Revisado: 03-05-20
I really enjoyed this book. An interesting world to explore with very good and likeable characters. A little intrigue and action. The story kept me interested from beginning to end. it was not a dark story, which for me made it even more enjoyable. I can not wait for book two.
The narration is awesome. I love the use of a male and female narrator working together. These two are a great team.

Historia
Once every four years, the Earth Alliance Naval Academy is included in a war game...or rather, the Wargame: On a distant frontier colony, cadets must repair, recommission, and crew a fleet of old, mothballed warships for a simulated fleet action against a group of seasoned veterans using top-of-the-line warships. After some meddling on the part of the Admiralty, many of the Academy's best are assigned to the oldest, smallest hulk in the Wargame, the unfortunately named corvette, Chihuahua.

Revisado: 02-24-20
I can not do this book justice, I do not write many reviews because I do not have that artistic touch but this one deserves for me to try and leave a good review.
This was book 1 and it was a great start. Academy cadets take part in a large scale war game until the unexpected happens.
I like a book that grabs your interest early on an keeps you wanting to know more about the characters. The characters are very likable and has you wanting to follow them through every second of the story. Character building has been good so far and I waiting to see what happens next to the young cadets and in the rest of the story.

The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx.

Easily one of my new favorites.
Revisado: 02-24-20
I have never been interested in the Fantasy genre, with a few exceptions like Game of Thrones or The King Killer Chronicles.
I bought this book only because I love the authors other series Expeditionary Force. I did not expect to enjoy a fantasy book as much as I did this one. it is a great, well written story. It easily engrossed me into the main characters and the story as a whole.
I was so captured by it I finished the book in less than two days. I could not put it down. Now I can not wait to start Book 2 and 3.
I will not go I to detail to prevent spoilers, but I would easily recommend this book. I in fact have already recommended this to two family members. it is a great story with good characters and it is a fun clean story.
For someone who was not into Fantasy, I will now be looking more closely at this genre for more books like this.
Thanks Mr. Alanson for another great series to listen to. I thought the narration by Tim Reynolds was very well done. I look forward to hearing more from him.

Revisado: 02-22-20
The premise is great. I was expecting something a little different but I am glad my preconception were wrong. This is one of those stories I did not want to put down and I try to fill every free minute listening to it and a bit disappointed that it ended.
Without giving spoilers, several times I was surprised with how things played out. I like a book that keeps me guessing a little.
Characters are well done and had me cheering or worried for them.
Ray Porter did a great job narrating.
I would recommend this book for those who like an Alternative History with a Sci-fi twist.
I look forward to the story continuing

Just another great addition to the Skippy Universe.
There is a lot of push back on the ending. I see it as a great cliffhanger. I am already seeing alter ego of No Patience Man showing when I think of the wait for the next book.
A lot of questions have been answered leaving a lot unanswered with some new questions thrown I to the mix.
Great series, great book and awesome narration.

I like the WWIII premise. Good action.
Revisado: 11-17-19
These books have a great premise of WWIII, with America in a desperate position. There are a few parts where the story just skims over a summary of action instead of a more detailed story. That would have made these books longer and who doesn't like longer books?
They changed narrators in this book and it sucked. I do not know why they switched but it was a bad move. This made the book a lot harder to like.
