Historia
From their first kiss, 27-year-old writer Danielle Trussoni is spellbound by a novelist from Bulgaria. The two share a love of jazz and books and travel, passions that intensify their whirlwind romance. Eight years later, hopeful to renew their marriage, Danielle and her husband move to the south of France, to a picturesque medieval village in the Languedoc. It is here, in a haunted stone fortress built by the Knights Templar, that she comes to understand the dark, subterranean forces that have been following her all along.

The narration was awful
Revisado: 10-07-21
I struggled with this book. It amazed me that someone did not step in to get another narrator. I know this is biographical but the narration was like listening to a high schooler read in front of the class. The prose was good but the narration made it feel forced and discordant. The story itself was okay but the writer's lack of chutzpah throughout was tough to listen to.

Historia
Beekeeper Holly McNee Kensen quietly lives in a world of her own on Sullivan’s Island, tending her hives and working at the local island library. Holly calls her mother "The Queen Bee" because she’s a demanding hulk of a woman. Her mother, a devoted hypochondriac, might be unaware she’s quite ill, but that doesn’t stop her from tormenting Holly. To escape the drama, Holly’s sister, Leslie, married and moved away, wanting little to do with island life. Holly’s escape is to submerge herself in the lives of the two young boys next door and their widowed father, Archie.

Awful narrator but the book is a good light read
Revisado: 09-26-20
I could not get past the narrator's vocal fry. Each character sounded exactly like the others except for the men. They were given personality. The main character sounded so boring and whiny with this narrator at the helm. Also, I live in Charleston and the places and terms used are not things s local would ever do. It made the book feel like it adopted the location in name only but omitted the possibility of personality.

Amazing!
Revisado: 02-16-12
If you could sum up Angels and Demons in three words, what would they be?
intense, fast paced, twisting
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I kept listening and trying to figure out who was
Which character – as performed by Richard Poe – was your favorite?
I liked Cardinal Moriati the best. He was always so calm and unassuming.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
It's not who you think...
Any additional comments?
I especially liked the narrator. To me Richard Poe should narrate all of Dan Brown's books. He gets the rhythm of how Brown writes and narrates in a way where the listener does not lose any of the content even when he is narrating at a fast pace to build the tension. He made this book for me. Excellent job!
