Good book - liked the female narrator best

I liked the audible version! My first audio book with 2 narrators - a female and a male. Story was well written, but the main character (Grace) was sometimes a little bit too naive.

This story got under my skin

I saw the movie decades ago and loved it! But I have to admit, that the audible version of the book is even better! Frank Muller's performance got me after only a few minutes. And there is so much more in the book compaired to the movie, so some of the story was still new to me. I got so captivated, I could hardly wait to continue listening. Laugh or not, but I am sad it is over! It will be hard to find another audible book, because I will compare it to this one. And I am positiv that I will listen to it again someday. Never even considered such a thing with any other audible book. This book touched my soul and I highly recommend it - love it!

Heart wrenching story well told!

I liked to listen to this voice from the start. I also liked the changing to the southern drawl of "the river people". Although the connections are plain to see at some point, this book never got boring. It kept me listening hours on end and up to the very end. It is a real tragedy, that this story is based on a true story! Loved it - from chapter 1 to the end.

Es gibt Momente im Leben, in denen einem klar wird, dass man etwas ändern muss. Der Moment, als Alexandra Reinwarth ihre nervige Freundin Kathrin mit einem herzlichen "Fick Dich" zum Teufel schickte, war so einer. Das Leben war schöner ohne sie - und wie viel schöner könnte es erst sein, wenn man generell damit aufhörte, Dinge zu tun, die man nicht will, mit Leuten die man nicht mag, um zu bekommen, was man nicht braucht!

Das Hoerbuch ist wahnsinnig witzig! Schon dafuer wuerde es sich lohnen, es sich anzuhoeren!
What did you like best about this story?
Ich habe mich sehr oft selbst wiedererkannt und ich finde, es hilft eine entspanntere Sichtweise zu entwickeln. Man muss ja nicht alles 1:1 uebernehmen, aber es anzuhoeren ist sehr erheiternd und entspannt.

Jedes Mal, wenn sie sagt "am Arsch vorbei" musste ich grinsen ;-)

Mein Fazit: Nicht immer alles so furchtbar ernst nehmen tut gut!
