Historia
Daniel Rice is a government science investigator whose specialty is solving seemingly intractable problems through scientific inquiry. But Daniel's intellectual strength is sorely tested by the bizarre realities he finds in the quantum world. Extra dimensions of space trap the unwary, probability replaces cause and effect, and time isn't what anyone imagined. The other side of the mirror is a place full of dangers, but it's also somewhere a dedicated scientist can uncover secrets that connect humans with something greater.

Quantum style science fiction
Revisado: 02-24-25
This trilogy was fascinating. True science based fiction action/adventure. The writer’s afterwards breaks down real and fictional. Phillips obviously has a good grip on quantum physics—the most interesting part of science imho. The readers were great. Added bonus that both a Latina woman and an African American woman play leading roles. One is an astronaut and the other a scientist. Kudos for putting women in these roles Mr. Phillips. If you like learning while you’re being entertained, this is for you!

She's old-money Miami. He's barefoot Coconut Grove. The only thing they had in common was the law, until they faced each other in the steamiest murder trial of the century, a case that would make sparks fly, headlines scream, and opposites attract. Surrounded by crooks, con men, and a cast of colorful characters, Steve Solomon and Vickie Lord must solve the crime before they end up in ruin, in jail, or, worse, in bed.

The humor and the nostalgic story
Revisado: 05-25-24
For those of you that like nostalgic romance and courtroom drama -listen to this blend of “it happened one night” meets “Key Largo” meets “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
Excellent sense of deadpan humor. Kudos to Levine for writing something entertaining and poignantly funny.

Historia
How do you kill a Saint? Falcio, Kest, and Brasti are about to find out, because someone has figured out a way to do it and they've started with a friend. The Dukes were already looking for ways out of their agreement to put Aline on the throne, but with the Saints turning up dead, rumors are spreading that the Gods themselves oppose her ascension. Now churches are looking to protect themselves by bringing back the military orders of religious soldiers, assassins, and (especially) Inquisitors - a move that could turn the country into a theocracy.

Love a good Malapropism
Revisado: 05-18-24
Brastie Goodbow is your man. Great humor. Great fight scenes. Good fun. Some tragedy. Commentary on how awful theocracies are- and how righteous Rule of Law is… I highly recommend all the books in the series. Great work Sebastien De Castell! Plus I love the fact you’ve slipped in some excellent vocabulary words at a time when industry standards have most writers catering to the lowest common denominator under the guise of accessibility. Why? I don’t know *shrugs* -weirdly it happens now, when we all have an encyclopedia in our back pockets and can tap a word on kindle and get its definition. Love to see you write more on that subject. I really like the background on Ugghh at the end of two as well. Please do that more. I approve.

A romance novel
Revisado: 02-17-24
I thought the relationship stood out as really contrived. The other parts -the science fiction part- took a backseat and seemed to be just an excuse the get the two characters in bed with one another… bordering on erotica.

The personification of death
Revisado: 02-07-24
Great philosophical treatment of death in a fantasy world. Piers Anthony doesn’t disappoint. And the idea that love sees beyond the physical… into old age and possibly beyond. I don’t believe the author doesn’t believe when I listen to this.

Excellent listen
Revisado: 04-22-23
This retelling of time’s old tail gives possible insights as to why it’s anti hero may have acted the way she did. It is a testament to the historical treatment of women. Too often we think of a time in the past which seems romantic but never fully consider the challenges of being marginalized in that era. This story rips that curtain down and makes us take an honest look misogyny -reminding us that it’s only in the last few decades in the 10,000 year recorded history of mankind, that women have gained any semblance of equality
