Historia
Two o'clock was missing. In an alternate Victorian world controlled by clock towers, a damaged clock can fracture time - and a destroyed one can stop it completely. It's a truth that 17-year-old clock mechanic Danny Hart knows all too well; his father has been trapped in a Stopped town east of London for three years. Though Danny is a prodigy who can repair not only clockwork but the very fabric of time, his fixation with staging a rescue is quickly becoming a concern to his superiors.

Historia
Since a crushing breakup three years ago, Nina Rice has written romance, friends, her dreams of scriptwriting for TV, and even LA proper out of her life. Instead, she’s safely out in the suburbs in her aunt’s condo working her talent agency job from home, managing celebrity email accounts, and certain that’s plenty of writing—and plot—for her life. But a surprise meeting called by Ari Fox, a young actress on everyone’s radar, stirs up all kinds of feelings Nina thought she’d deleted for good . . .

My new favorite modern queer story
Revisado: 09-10-24
I hope a world like this will some day be the norm for all of us. No homophobia. Just acceptance and love. That would be awfully nice indeed.

Beautiful example of developing intimacy in a queer relationship
Revisado: 02-18-24
a stand alone fantasy (animal shifters, not fae) novel about two women falling for each other in a really realistic and beautifully intimate way. One has severe PTSD (emotionally detached, hyper-vigilant, night terrors, struggling to cry…) and it is clear the author *gets it.* it is not plot heavy, by any means. But it doesn’t feel like it is lacking. There is some back story for the two women and a bit of world building but the “action” is focused around the thoughts and feelings of each character as they get to know each other. This is a story of 2 women connecting through learning how to truly hear, see, and understand each other. It is a beautiful example of developing intimacy in queer relationships.
And I know a few men would absolutely DESPISE it! But honestly, that makes me like it even more.

Historia
The one thing you never talk about while you’re in the Scholomance is what you’ll do when you get out. Not even the richest enclaver would tempt fate that way. But it’s all we dream about: the hideously slim chance we’ll survive to make it out the gates and improbably find ourselves with a life ahead of us, a life outside the Scholomance halls. And now the impossible dream has come true. I’m out, we’re all out. We saved everyone. So much for my great-grandmother’s prophecy of doom and destruction. Ha, only joking! Actually, it’s gone all wrong.

Historia
In Wisdom, Shelter. That’s the official motto of the Scholomance. I suppose you could even argue that it’s true—only the wisdom is hard to come by, so the shelter’s scant. Our beloved school does its best to devour all its students—but now that I’ve reached my senior year and have actually won myself a handful of allies, it’s suddenly developed a particular craving for me. Even if I somehow make it through the endless waves of maleficaria that it keeps throwing at me, I haven’t any idea how my allies and I are going to make it through the graduation hall alive.

Revisado: 01-25-24
I don’t even have the words to describe… I have read nearly a hundred magic books in the past couple of years and this one is truly unlike the rest. The world, the magic, the monsters… human nature amidst it all… I simply do not even know where to begin so I am just going to buy book 3 and hope they come to me by the time I finish it!

Historia
In the beginning, there was darkness. Before he met Callie, before he became the Bargainer, there was Desmond Flynn, the bastard son of a scribe. A boy born to a weak mother, cursed with little magic, and destined to marry a slave. But fate had something else in mind. From the barren caves of Arestys to the palace of Somnia to the streets of earth, this is how Desmond Flynn, a fairy who began with nothing, became the Emperor of Evening Stars.

If your favorite ACOTAR character is Rhys…
Revisado: 12-19-23
You will love this book! I found myself constantly wanting to know what was going on in Des’s mind the whole first 2 books and this more than scratched that itch. The sacrifice his mother made…. Wow. The darkest aspects of dark fantasy is always my favorite, so this series has called to me more than most I have read lately. I would really love to see some more diversity amongst the characters in these worlds too ie Queer or BIPOC. I think it would be interesting to see these intersectional identities, especially since there is already so much hierarchical elements in each world. Hopefully the lesbian fae warrior wakes up and gets to be a bigger role in the last book!

Historia
Siren Callypso Lillis still wears the physical reminders of her time as Karnon’s captive, even after reuniting with soulmate Desmond Flynn, the King of Night. Not only that, but mounting evidence suggests the Thief of Souls, the being responsible for the disappearance of countless fae warriors, is still out there. Invited to an annual Solstice celebration, Callie and Des journey to the Kingdom of Flora to continue their investigation. But under the bright lights and striking blooms of the realm, new complications arise, ones that no amount of bargaining can undo.

Loving the emphasis on DARKNESS in this Dark Fantasy series
Revisado: 12-18-23
So excited for 2.5 and will 100% be buying book 3! My fiancee wants to read it next! I would love to know more about what being a Siren means in this world, maybe some under water adventures? Looking forward to whatever comes next! Plus, creepy children are always the quickest way to make my skin crawl.

Historia
Callypso Lillis is a siren with a very big problem, one that stretches up her arm and far into her past. For the last seven years she’s been collecting a bracelet of black beads up her wrist, magical IOUs for favors she’s received. Only death or repayment will fulfill the obligations. Only then will the beads disappear. Everyone knows that if you need a favor, you go to the Bargainer. He’s a man who can get you anything you want … at a price. And everyone knows that sooner or later he always collects. But for one client, he’s never asked for repayment. Not until now.
