Historia
A dance club full of bodies. Cause of death - a mystery. The lone survivor - a man, raving like a lunatic, wearing only a deerstalker hat. Now, the man who calls himself Sherman Holmes is being studied like a lab rat by a top-secret government agency. How is it he can be barely clinging to reality one minute - yet be a seeming genius the next? Within his brain might just be the greatest scientific breakthrough of the millennium, if anyone can figure out how to access it. Enter the agent code named Watson.

Good characters, very simplistic story
Revisado: 10-08-22
The two characters in the story are good. They have a good dynamic and developed well enough. The story is pretty weak. It reminded me of a kids action cartoon: Bad guys are trying to get good guys for world domination. You could start watching episode 43 and figure out the plot in 5 min. This book was the same. I could have started in the middle or near the end and have the story figured out in 5 pages. It's not overly funny, not overly dramatic, not complex. It was good enough to finish but not to get the next one.

Historia
Evangelical Christianity and conservative politics are today seen as inseparable. But when Jimmy Carter, a Democrat and a born-again Christian, won the presidency in 1976, he owed his victory in part to American evangelicals, who responded to his open religiosity and his rejection of the moral bankruptcy of the Nixon Administration. Carter, running as a representative of the New South, articulated a progressive strand of American Christianity that championed liberal ideals, racial equality, and social justice - one that has almost been forgotten since.

Good biography but highly religion focused
Revisado: 09-01-20
This biography is well done and covers Carter's childhood through post presidency but it is entirely focused around religion. I don't think any story of Carter could be told without involving religion but this biography approaches everything from a religious standpoint. If it didn't have a religious angle it was glossed over or not discussed. It does cover the rise of the religious right and their influence in politics which was interesting, but don't expect any broad political picture or in depth policy history.

Historia
For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

For people who need a why to enjoy a world
Revisado: 09-16-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, I don't know anyone who would be interested in the details of why any RPG world worked the way they did
Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked Dale and how his character evolved
Which character – as performed by Vikas Adam – was your favorite?
Hanz was done perfectly.
Do you think Dungeon Born needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes, the story was just getting going when it ended.
Any additional comments?
You need to really really really want to know how the made up believe physics behind the standard dungeon/boss/RPG type game would work. The first half of the book was dominated by this theme. It was very clever and well done but I had a hard time sticking with it waiting for the story to happen. The second half of the book did a lot more with the characters and plot which I did enjoy.
If the audio samples doesn't grab you and you don't think you'll really care a lot about why a dungeon has a boss monster considering finding a more plot focused book.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Most of the dialog between Bishop and Skippy

Any additional comments?
This book started as a decent Sci Fi military story with an accurate look at what happens when advanced aliens kick humans ass. Humans keep up as best they can then the book introduces a new character and the book takes on a whole new direction which was immensely entertaining.
