Historia
Suffer the Children presents a terrifying tale of apocalyptic fiction, as listeners are introduced to Herod's Syndrome, a devastating illness that suddenly and swiftly kills all young children across the globe. Soon, they return from the grave, and ask for blood. And with blood, they stop being dead. They continue to remain the children they once were, but only for a short time, as they need more blood to live. The average human body holds 10 pints of blood, so the inevitable question for parents everywhere becomes: How far would you go to bring your child back?

Horror is not my usual genre - I normally stick to psychological thrillers or drama, but wow! This book had me hooked! It's a wild plot, but the author made me really be able to picture this and put myself in these families shoes. Never a dull or boring moment. I will think of this book for a long time! would buy a sequel in a heartbeat!

Wes and Ivy are madly in love. They've never felt anything like it. It's the type of romance people write stories about. But what kind of story? When it's good, it's great. Flowers. Grand gestures. Deep meaningful conversations where the whole world disappears. When it's bad, it's really bad. Vengeful fights. Damaged property. Arrest warrants.

Looks like I am in the minority here, but I didn't love this book. I have read and loved all of this authors other books and preorder automatically, but this one just didn't work for me. Pretty slow start and middle - the only suspenseful part was maybe the last hour or two and even thats a stretch. I normally "read" a book in two days - 3 max - this took me 8 days to get through- just wasn't interested enough to come back to it. Plot is a bit unbelievable and just wasn't crazy about the ending either.
Karissa Vacker'd performance, as always, was AMAZING and was the only reason I didn't jump ship on this one. If you haven't read this author yet - start with My Lovely Wife!

what an awesome book! Kept me listening compulsively. Even though I figured out the twist that was coming about halfway through, the journey to get to the end was delicious! Highly recommend! Easy to follow and easy to immerse yourself in the lives of these 4 characters.

Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

Twisty!
Revisado: 08-12-20
Alot of thrillers lately claim to be twisty and suspenseful, but rarely live up to that claim. This was one of the best thrillers I have read all year. It takes a lot to fool me, but this book got me! I was so smug halfway through the book thinking I had figured it all out to be proven soooo wrong in the last chapter! loved it and excellent narration by both narrators as usual!!

Best Book of 2020
Revisado: 06-11-20
This was by far the best book I have read all year, possibly more than that! Never a dull moment! Even though I pretty much had it figured out by the 30% point, I didn't know it all and it was worth the ride to the end to see how it all played out. There were definitely twists that were unexpected. Excellent storyline, character development, and narration as always by Brittany Presley.

Historia
Working as a dedicated forensic psychiatrist for many years, Emma is not shocked so easily. Then she is assigned to work with Connie, a wife and mother accused of a despicable crime. Connie is suffering from dissociative amnesia - or at least seems to be. Now it is up to Emma to decide whether Connie can stand trial for her sins. But there is something about Connie that inexorably pulls Emma into her orbit. Too Close is a masterfully written riveting listen about the powerful - yet dangerous - closeness between women.

Refreshing!
Revisado: 10-31-19
Loved this book! Very fast paced, deep, beautiful and honest look at mental illness. I loved the characters and really felt like my life was crumbling as Connie's did as I read through. Also completely enjoyed Connie's cynicism and dark humor, this all made for an engrossing, absorbing read.

Historia
Meggie Meyer, an anxiety-ridden debut author, can’t bear to face her upcoming book tour, but she can’t give up on her writing career just as it’s about to really begin. She comes up with a plan that’s so crazy, it just might work: She hires an actress to impersonate her for the two-week stint. Sloan Buchanan, the spunky aspiring actress, jumps at the opportunity to use her intensive acting method to sink into this unusual role, and the line between her and her character quickly begins to blur. And Rachel Drake, the no-nonsense detective, is left to put the pieces together.

Amazing Debut!!
Revisado: 10-24-19
Cannot believe this is Mrs. Keisters debut novel! This book is better than most books I have read this year, even books by big named authors that have several books published. I had so many theories while reading this book, but none panned out in the end and that makes this book an absolute winner for me. I read ALOT of books, all in the mystery/thriller genre, and it takes a lot to fool me. This book has given me faith that there are still good thrillers out there in the world. The plot was never slow or boring, characters were well fleshed with lots of dimension, and the outcome was both obvious and the least expected at the same time! Narration was superb and really brought this wonderful novel to life. Absolutely cannot wait to see what this amazing author comes out with next. Mrs. Kiester has a new fan that will wait impatiently for her next book to be published. Thank you so much for the absorbing read!

Great compilation of bite sized horror stories that are ultimately part of a longer story. I love short scary stories, but it's usually a hit or miss with lots of duds mixed in with a few good stories. Not with this book, all stories were awesome, most are very short (5 -20 mins), but very well done! I loved that I could listen to a couple stories on breaks or lunch at work and had a good stopping point.
Also, excellent narration added to the overall enjoyment. I listened to this over the period of a couple days, and am left wanting more!!

Revisado: 08-09-19
Wow, wow, wow!!! Such an emotional, compelling, and thrilling listen. This is the kind of book that makes me want to retract every book I have ever rated five stars in order to make this rating mean more! The best book I have 'read' all year, and I read 2-3 audiobooks per week. Held my interest from the first word to the very last. You will not regret using a credit or purchase on this one. Absolutely excellent book.
Narration is a very important part of an audiobook, and the narrator for Lost You was spot on and perfect for this book. Highly emotional in all the right spots. Everything about this book was amazing and gelled just right!
Thank you to the author and narrator for such an absorbing, thought provoking, emotional and thrilling book.
