I’m struggling to even give this 3 stars. Really enjoyed the first two books. This one just had zero chemistry and a boring plot line.

I love Kerrigan Byrne’s books, but this one was a flop for me. The first two in this series are such great stories, but the plot in this one was a little slow and I just didn’t get the chemistry between the two main characters. Derek Perkins narration was spot on as always.

Love the Story, Hate the Narration

As others have stated, the narration is atrocious. However I love Elisa Braden’s stories so I powered through. I will say, by the 3rd book either I was used to the weird accent or it was toned down and slightly less noticeable. Slightly. Honestly torn on if I’m going to listen to the rest of the series.

All my favorite things

This book was just about perfect for me…a grumpy giant Scot, a babbling heroine to add some humor, forced proximity/bodyguard vibes, and marriage of convenience. This book is heavy on the relationship and light on the drama side of the plot, but that’s ok with me! Campbell’s dirty talk got me 🥵

A whacky little love story

If you’ve read any other Pippa Grant you’ll know what to expect here, a cute story with some humor (although this one was on the weak side for me), bizarre characters, low angst and a happy ending. The story was ok, but the male narrator wasn’t for me.

I was hesitant over the divorced dad plot, but I found myself pleasantly surprised by this one. Plenty of humor & steam, a few heartfelt moments and just a dash of angst. Perfect romance read.

Echoing other reviewers here…the accents are poorly done, the plot slow and tedious, and other than some insta-lust no real connection between our hero and heroine.

I really enjoyed the first book, but this one was a let down. The heroine is a snobby know it all who somehow also manages to also be just plain dumb at times. She’s “in love” with a man she’s never laid eyes on…which I just have a hard time understanding. And our hero takes entirely too long to reveal himself. There’s absolutely no plot and no chemistry between the two main characters.

Still have 1.5 hours to go so maybe the end is decent but I doubt it.

A “nice” story

After 3 LB books, I think this author just isn’t for me. If you like perfect characters who are sickly sweet (and completely unrealistic) maybe she’s the author for you.
