Shadow and Darkness, the dual-perspective sequel to Shadows and Shade, immediately continues Shade’s adventure, bringing us out of the White Castle, through the depths of the forest, and into Silvari civilization to figure out how she can burst the bubble that keeps her tethered to the alluring brothers.

I am so glad the second one came out as well. Ready for the next one! I wrote a long review in the first book but I just needed to come back and say I love this story so much have read them twice and listened to both of them as soon as they came out. So good, give it a try!

Historia
When the Elorsin brothers venture onto our estate in search of a mysterious bird, just in time to catch me on the wrong end of my master’s temper, they somehow also acquire me. Acquire, kidnap, rescue - is there a difference? Sure, four of the scariest immortals in existence may actually have saved my life, but blending in as a servant in the Elite training castle that I now call home is almost impossible with these four powerful, dark, and broken men focusing their attention on me - and it’s not always good attention.

I really loved reading the books and I have been waiting for the audio books. I love the world she built and I love the characters. Yes shade is a little immature but she has led a very sheltered and harsh life and finds the fun of it where she can. You don't get to see quite as much character growth from her in the first book but all the characters do have growth throughout the story as a whole. I could not stop once I started this book. Now for a slight negative, the narrator, while she is not the best I have heard she is for sure not the worst, but, she did miss pronounce sigil and it really bugged me because they say it a lot in a part of the book. I do listen to all of my books sped up generally between 1.5x and 1.8x and I find that it helps me with a lot of my narrator issues. She does have a more mature voice but honestly that did not bother me and she did a pretty decent job of differentiating between all the different charaters. My advice is listen to the sample, know you can speed it up if needed and give it a shot be use this story is so worth it

Historia
My name is Alexis Delaney, and I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I'm a Necromancer. Which means I can see the dead, talk to them, and help them move on. Well, I used to be able to. Someone has sealed the Veil. Now the dead are stuck here. And with the extra energy floating around town, the ghosts are getting stronger. It's been two months since I came to Spring Mountain to live with Uncle Rory. And the guys, my five best friends, have done everything they can to help since.

One of my favorite series

Great narrators. I love this book so much I am pretty sure I have listened/read it about 10times at this point. the Christmas scene is great and I love the growing bonds they are all forming. it's not often you find a reverse harem that starts out with a really strong emphasis on friendship, and I think that is one of the things that makes this book in particular so great, you really get to see the strong foundation they have as friends first. so many great things about this book, the bathtub scene, her true self, singing, crazy Lexie moments, Maria, Hades, and more. It is a long book but I do not feel as though it dragged at any point.

I was so close to getting everything I wanted - an internship with my uncle, an officer with the special-ops team. If it weren't for a stupid boy that had to go and make me angry, causing me to turn a certain part of his anatomy purple and sparkly, I wouldn't have accidentally revealed to my family what I really was. What I had been hiding.

So I have previously read this whole series before the audio book was released and when I saw that it was out I bought it straight away. Gabby is one of my fav fmc. She is funny and strong and knows her worth. The narrator did a great job with all the different voices for the fairly large cast of characters. The book is fast paced but doesn't make you feel like you are missing character development or plot. The world she created was new and fun and had a slight twist to the supernatural that I loved. I have listened to this book 3 times now and will be looking for the next books when they come out. I will also say that I do listen to all my audio books at 1.5x speed or higher, this really makes it fell like it flows more naturally to me from the narrator. I know everyone has a preference to speed and mine is that most narrators talk to slow for me. I do not however hold that against any narrator and it does not reflect in any of my reviews as it is a personal preference.
