The bible comes alone with a full cast and easily recognizable voices and subtle but effective audio effects. It feeds my soul and ministers to the Spirit within me while sleeping. It quiets my mind and gives me peace.

Loved the reader’s articulation and pronunciation when explaining Hebrew words. Outstanding explanations and well documented support for revealing the mysteries.

Absolutely love the way this book is structured. The reader’s cadence is nearly perfect for listener participation in the declarations and her voice is so very pleasant. I’m going to order the physical book for more contemplative study. Even so, this audio book comes the closest to a perfect rendition of this format I’ve ever heard. Exceptionally well done.

This series remains my all-time favorite and this latest addition to it adds am awesome outcome one can hardly imagine! I so very much want to see each book made into a feature film, I started thinking about how to do it myself as a fan film.

I want more in this series, especially with Skippy, Emily Perkins, Dave Chika, and Sergen Jates! Please write the story behind the secret mission of The Second Banana!

R.C. Bray is without doubt the best of all narrators imaginable for this series. He made it come alive in vivid ways that now only his voice characterizations will do. I admire his ability and breadth.

Reader speaks fast and 3/4 speed doesn't help

The book has great information and I'll probably buy the paperback for reference.

The reader spoke too fast. You can tell this is his normal speed, so it's likely he lives in New York city. Sad part is that the audible iPhone app at 3/4 speed made the vocal cadence about right but produced a horrendous echo effect that was even more distracting. Get this on your free credit if you've got nothing better in your wish list, otherwise buy the hard copy for a better experience.

Disappointingly Executed on Audible

Total
3 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 11-20-04

I have the paper based version of this book, so I was naturally thrilled to see it on Audible. Yet I was disappointed in the sample and then to read it is available in Format 1 quality only. Dr. Elgin wrote an excellent book that I have found extremely useful in dealing with people.

Another reviewer said SEEING what was said was not effective--he missed the point. You have to match the perspective of the person you're talking to in order to help them understand you. Moreover, that is only the basics of the book, which then goes into how to parse (or dissect) the statements people make and then use specific techniques to prevent yourself from taking the bait and falling victim to verbal abuse. One favorite of mine is when someone baits you into an argument and you can ask them a simple question that not only ignores the bait, but places them and everyone around you on notice that you will not be abused in such a way. And a welcome side-effect is to take the agressive assertions they make away from them while //placing them on the defensive.//

This book is well worth your time, but I am disappointed that the audio quality is so low. My recommendation is to buy it in the bookstore or check it out at the library if you can find it (it's been out of print for several years now.) Otherwise, this might be the only place you can get it. Either way, it is a very worthwhile read.

Student Case Studies and Research

Total
5 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 08-02-03

I found the HBR very informative, particularly since many of the issues seem to be compilations of the best case studies of MBA students and occasionally a research project of one of the professors. Well researched with ample examples, the HBR presents the latest thinking in business leadership, management, and human relations. The narrator is a true pleasure to listen to and his voice is quite expressive. I would prefer that HBR was published bi-monthly for the same price, but overall a reasonable value.
