Inspiring read
Revisado: 05-29-24
The story got my attention right from the start. I loved Gladys & her understandable, often comical responses to Jesus. I especially liked how the author circled back to Philly & Seeing Jesus at the end of the book.

Historia
When he meets a strangely dressed man on the bus, he stops worrying about his grandmother, who’s in the hospital, and starts questioning his own mental health. Apparently no one else can see the strange guy. Which must mean he’s not really there. Except there he is always hanging around, all day long. And for days in a row.

True Grit
Revisado: 02-28-24
I appreciate Diane’s strength of character and perseverance: as a nurse in Viet Nam; as an advocate for veterans, & especially the women who served ; as an honest & open testament of the devastation of war, particularly a needless & lost war; & as a beacon of hope for those suffering PTSD. Well done, & thank you, Diane.

Fascinating story
Revisado: 12-23-23
I love everything Kristin Hannah writes! And I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Kristin does such a great job of story & character development. I was totally wrapped up in this book & pretty much listened nonstop, except for a few hours sleep last night.

Fascinating story!
Revisado: 08-26-21
This story seemed so real that I had to research to be sure it was fiction. I loved the characters, the vivid (& very sad) depiction of the violence & futility of life in South Sudan, & the exciting tale of great basketball. Now I will have to read more books by Grisham.
