Like so many other reviews: the narrator was not my idea of a good time. I won’t listen to any more books narrated by her. No offense. But hard pass.

This story is super boring with little focus. The plot thickens the last 30-45 minutes of the book. I would say: HARD PASS.

I agree with another person who reviewed this book. There was quite a bit of repetition, which seemed unnecessary. The plot seemed to form at chapter 20 which was disappointing. I wish the last 3/4 of the book was the entire book and the epilogue should have definitely been part OF the book.
Overall? Not bad.

Oh My God

PLEASE PURCHASE THIS BOOK! The entire series to be honest.
This book was so deep and so raw for me. I truly enjoyed the way Leanne Davis took me on a ride with Jessie and Will. Brittany Pressley did an excellent job making me feel like I was part of the story, like I was actually there. The description of the characters, their actions, thoughts, struggles, and highlights were embodied in the narration. I could not stop playing this story when I was at work, at home, and right before falling asleep. I could not put this first book down.

I believe this book is something that is very deep, disturbing, yet so real for too many of us. I wondered if it would trigger anything from my own past, but it didn't. Instead, I felt like the parallels made me feel like I wasn't so alone in my own struggles, recovering, being a survivor. Leanne and Birttany did a great job evoking emotion, drawing tears from sorrow and happiness and had me wondering how it would all play out. While not a thriller, it is a story that made me feel like I could not just walk away from it because I wanted to know the ending.

Thank you Leanne and Brittany. This is a book / series I WILL re-listen to over and over again. I am so happy I found this!

I loved Gage & Liberty, Hardy & Haven, Jack & Ella. But Joe Ana Avery? Meeeehhhhh. The story line was all over the place. The first three books in the series gave background to the characters and really cultivated the story line. By the middle of the first three books I was captivated by the characters and loved them, but this one I was left uninterested. I feel like the book was maybe thrown together. It could have been written in a manner that made you fall in love with Avery and Joe by the middle of the book, but I merely listened to the story because I had purchased the book already. There were several couples with their own stories during Avery and Joes romance so it was hard to keep up with each one.
I DO think Lisa should write a series about the Chase cousins because you meet Ryan in this book and I would totally listen to it as long as Brittany Pressley narrated it. I think Ryan could be the start of the series and I’d fall in love with the characters all over again.

What can I say? I am so happy I stumbled on this series. The characters tug at your emotions and Brittany truly wraps you in as the narrator. I thoroughly enjoy these books. I wish this series never ended. I need them to have cousins or friends because I need more.

The author is phenomenal. The story was very intriguing. It’s not a simple romance, but really takes on the life of the actual characters. I was so engrossed I didn’t want to go to sleep. Just stay awake until I finished the book. And honestly, I’ll listen to just about anything Brittany Pressley narrates. Let’s be honest.

This book was literally so awful I got 3 hours into it and couldn’t keep going. If I heard the word pedophile one more time I was going to vomit. Maybe it was the narration, I’m not sure. But it was too much. Don’t buy it.
