Historia
A quiet, wealthy plantation owner, Jack Hinson watched the start of the Civil War with disinterest. Opposed to secession and a friend to Union and Confederate commanders alike, he did not want a war. After Union soldiers seized and murdered his sons, placing their decapitated heads on the gateposts of his estate, Hinson could remain indifferent no longer. He commissioned a special rifle for long-range accuracy, he took to the woods, and he set out for revenge.

Lots of fluff.
Revisado: 01-17-25
Very dull and slow moving. If you’re looking for a book with lots of information, this is not the one unless you’re looking for a book that describes each and every detail about everything except Jack Hinson‘s pursuit of the union soldiers. It feels like the author had a word count required by the publisher, and he was struggling to make the count.

Historia
Gunter K. Koschorrek was a machine-gunner on the Russian front in WWII. He wrote his illicit diary on any scraps of paper he could lay his hands on. As keeping a diary was strictly forbidden, he sewed the pages into the lining of his thick winter coat and deposited them with his mother on infrequent trips home on leave. The diary went missing, and it was when he was reunited with his daughter in America some 40 years later that it came to light and became Blood Red Snow.

Probably Fiction
Revisado: 08-10-23
The story is probably untrue. Google the title and you will be surprised at how many view it as fiction. Good story but I believe that is all it is.

Great book. Steve Young is a one in 1 billion individual and it’s amazing that with all his success he is who he is
Revisado: 09-19-20
It’s a very interesting story about Steve Young. I had no idea that he was the individual that he is. A must-read

A blueprint. A bible. What Sun Tzu’s Art of War was to ancient China, Pimp is to the streets. As real as you can get without jumping in, this is the story of Iceberg Slim’s life as he saw, felt, tasted, and smelled it. It is a trip through hell by the one man who lived to tell the tale—the dangers of jail, addiction, and death that are still all too familiar for today’s Black community. By telling the story of one man’s struggles and triumphs in an underground world, Pimp shows us the game doesn’t change; it just has a different swagger.

Definitely a good read. Very interesting
Revisado: 09-14-20
I don’t know if the book is so much a examination of racism and white exploiting black. I think it’s more of a story of how a man became a pimp and how he exploited women to make money for him, And exploited might be even too strong of a word to say I think one could even use employed women to make money for him. I also think it’s fascinating that the book takes place in their 30s 40s and 50s and it could read like a modern tale. The hardest part about the book is believing everything that’s written by the author but there are people who are larger than life so it could all be possible.

Said Stalin was called a tyrant by some, especially those in the west. I guess killing tens of millions through forced famine or purges in your military and government might make you a tyrant. Treats Stalin as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Very biased.
