Wonderful

I was always a fan of Eisenhower but I did not realize just how important he was as a president. The belief that he was a golf playing old man is clearly undermined by this book which really indicates how much of a powerful force he was in the world during a time when nuclear weapons were just on the rise. I strongly recommend this book it was a wonderful read and I will surely relisten to it again as time goes on.

Tiger or...?

LOved loved loved this book. What can you say that hasn't been said other than this book spoke to me at a time in my life that I had a tiger in my boat - the choice, feed the tiger or be fed to the tiger has so many connections to my own story. Make you "Believe in God"? You bet.

Fascinating but...

Great book - even better narrator. I get the feeling this could have been two books somehow,,,the beginning of Apple and part two: the rest. I loved the first half, possibly because I lived through it. The second half not so much. I would recommend this to friends who have the Apple curse, as a friend of mine calls it - anything Apple-any price -anytime. It gives the big picture story of surely one of the preeminent geniuses of all time.

Six of one, half dozen of the other

Kate McKinnon is one of the funniest comic actors out there and her performance here is up to par - as is the other voice actors - the story however left me wanting. I listened start to finish so that's better than returning it. I am hopeful this is not the last of this venue for her.

Bloody Amazing

this story really blew my mind. it shows how greed can make seemingly sane people do things that are so abhorrent that under no circumstances would one even think of perpetrating the act. and yet, many people did by investing in one of the most agregious pathological liars since Bernie Madoff. this is worth listening to for no other reason than it's a modern day morality tale that takes no prisoners.

Good but not Gripping

for the most part I enjoyed the book - while overly long, the narrative managed to keep me interested with the changing POVs - overall it was a decent whodunit.

Another Winner

I am surprised at just how quickly 5 and one-half hours can pass by! The author uses clear examples and analogies to assist the listener in making change in their life. I bought this book because I was looking for motivation to get back to some basics - eating healthy, exercising - the usual I guess. James Clear helped me to get re-started on my journey by applying the simple but effective rules of breaking and maintaining habits. Well worth a listen.

Pleasant Surprise

I have to say that I started listening with a tentative ear. Initially I thought that this was a story that held no interest for me - I had just finished the latest Cormoran Strike novel and was in the mood for mystery again. The novel however grew on me and I found myself looking forward to being in the car and listening intently to Joe's messages and insights as he imparted them to the hopeful travellers who came to him. I recommend this book to anyone who.needs respite from the daily daily. you won't be disappointed.

Another Winner

I have listened to all of the series now - this one while very good did not have the suspense of the first three. Perhaps it was the setting? Regardless, the narration really makes these novels come alive - I am hopeful a fifth will be in the offing? It may be long, however, the time spent is worth it.

this was a great listen. I hadn't planned to listen and then found myself in my car without my novel downloaded. I played Christmas Eve and was really happy I did. excellent story with great voices made it a real pleasure to hear.
