Historia
It was whispered all through London society that he was a murderer, that he'd spent his youth in an asylum and was not to be trusted - especially with a lady. Any woman caught in his presence was immediately ruined. Yet Beth found herself inexorably drawn to the Scottish lord whose hint of a brogue wrapped around her like silk and whose touch could draw her into a world of ecstasy.

Couldn't Take the Narration
Revisado: 10-14-16
Would you try another book from Jennifer Ashley and/or Angela Dawe?
Jennifer Ashley: yes
Angela Dawe: probably not
Any additional comments?
After the first couple of chapters, I simply could not listen to the lack of prosody in the narration. The dialogue wasn't bad, but the 3rd person commentary was abhorrent. I gave this 3 stars in the other categories, because I'm not quite there with the written book. Probably will be higher than the 3 stars.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Worth the Time...Mostly
Revisado: 03-18-16
Would you consider the audio edition of The Girl on the Train to be better than the print version?
I absolutely loved the narrators. I have friends who never finished the print version and compared it to another book that got tremendous hype, but was not a great read.
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
Megan

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.

A Disappointment After All The Hype
Revisado: 12-19-14
Any additional comments?
After all of the hype and my really liking the Naked Werewolf series, this one was a huge disappointment. I didn't think it did the genres of comedy, paranormal, or romance any justice. I very seldom don't finish a book, but this one bored me so much I couldn't bring myself to turn it back on after a while.

I don't really know what I expected, but this was not it. Perhaps I don't like this kind of science fiction. I listened to the whole book, but it was a struggle.

Almost finished with book #3, this book (#2) was not as compelling as #1 or #3. It started a bit slow, but the OUTSTANDING NARRATION made it so I never considered not finishing this segment of Jamie and Claire's journey. I'm beginning to believe that my listening future is tied up with these books for a while. When does book #8 come out? I hope It's available on audible.com immediately.

For 20 years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to Scotland's majestic mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones...about a love that transcends the boundaries of time...and about James Fraser, a Scottish warrior whose gallantry once drew a young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his....

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. Historia
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.

Seriously?
Revisado: 04-20-12
I knew this book would be a funny romp in the continued life of our favorite bounty hunter. Unfortunately, I'll have to read all about it, because after just a couple of chapters, I simply could not continue with the horrible narration. How could you take a classic series like this one and destroy the humor, the prosody, the timing? Do I sound disappointing? You bet I am. I seldom toss an audio title, even if the narration is suspect. But this one? The only direction I'll take here will be towards my Nook where I know I'll enjoy the tale. Shame on you. I paid for this title. Shame on me.

The Narration Made It Happen
Revisado: 02-17-12
A Discovery of Witches is a paranormal romance. It's a love story first, and a mystery after that. I listened to this book while friends read it. I enjoyed it way more than they did due to the excellent narration. I think the book could have been a bit shorter, and I think the romance was too overdone. If I hear the phrase "moi couer" one more time, I think I'll scream.
Even with those drawbacks, I enjoyed the story. I'm looking forward to the 2nd book, hoping that the same narrator does the job.

The Narrator Messed Up The Rating
Revisado: 12-15-11
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The narrator could have used the voices she used in the previous titles.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Seduction in Death?
I'm not finished with the book yet.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Boring; no change in voices.
What character would you cut from Seduction in Death?
N/A
Any additional comments?
I came to work this morning intent on doing exactly what I'm doing, only to find out that pretty much all of the reviews are about the disappointing narration. I love this series, and I love listenint to it rather than reading it mostly because of the voices. I fell in love with Roarke by
