What would happen if you admitted you weren't a good person? It's a seemingly crazy question. From priests to prisoners, nearly everyone thinks they're morally better than average. Why change our minds? In his conversational and delightfully self-effacing style, Brant Hansen shows us why we should fight our drive to be self-righteous: it's breathtakingly freeing. What's more, just admitting that we're profoundly biased toward ourselves and want desperately to preserve our rightness at all costs even helps us improve our relationships with God and others.

Performance by author made the book an experience
Revisado: 04-04-25
This is great book that covers what can be a very heavy topic. The author does a masterful job reading it. I am so glad I did this book as an audiobook; I never would have done it justice. I laughed out loud multiple times and saved more clips than I have with any other book just for a good laugh. I can’t recommend this enough!

Shockingly Impactful
Revisado: 10-12-22
I’ve done a handful of really good business books by some phenomenal writers and business people. Never have I done a book that so quickly and clearly impacted my approach to my own work as well as my teams. This is such a simple concept with so much nuance and a beautiful impact. I did the assessment with a portion of my team and already seeing some great fruit from it. I can’t recommend this book enough. I’m very excited to be able to roll this out to the rest of the team.

Historia
In keeping with the parable style, Patrick Lencioni begins by telling the fable of a woman who, as CEO of a struggling Silicon Valley firm, took control of a dysfunctional executive committee and helped its members succeed as a team. Story time over, Lencioni offers explicit instructions for overcoming the human behavioral tendencies that he says corrupt teams. Succinct yet sympathetic, this guide will be a boon for those struggling with the inherent difficulties of leading a group.

Shockingly Good
Revisado: 09-03-22
The way the author wrote this book makes it an instant classic for me. Great principals written in for of a parable captured my attention immediately and kept me engaged throughout the entire book. The reader’s performance was absolutely brilliant. I would highly recommend this book to anyone working with a team.

Great book decent performance
Revisado: 07-02-19
Mark Batterson is one of my favorite authors to listen to on audible. His stories are captivating with great points. Loved this book. Only issue for me were the chapters weren’t spaced in the performance section. It would move to next chapter like it was a run on sentence. Small detail but I like knowing when I’ve completed a chapter. It helps me reference certain section.

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.

This book was recommended by gentleman whom I have great respect for how he's done business with us over the years. He's been a great role model and has made that difficult leap from work acquaintance
