Very enjoyable story and LitRPG base. I enjoyed the ticking clock and back story of the main character and those that he encounters, befriends, and how he puzzles through problems. Looking forward to getting to the rest of the series.

The story as mentioned above is intriguing and the premise is an ever expanding system discovers earth and then incorporates it into its own being with its own rules which are highly mysterious but trains champions and other personalities for conflict and power. Xavier Collins is a bookish writer and college student plucked out of his home (just like all other earth inhabitants) and given a choice of path and the. Flung into the tower of champions…a half arena half video game half VR headset with deadly results.

It’s a cool book. I’m interested in the next one but the top reviews I’ve seen for book 2 aren’t promising.

Erik is a Soldier on a strange world as an Outworlder. This is a book with Literary gaming of sorts with points and essences that contribute to health intellect and magic abilities. The story is fascinating and worthy of fantasy lovers who grow tired of too much magic. It’s gritty but not overly so. I highly recommend.

Washing up on the shore, Costco, as he begins a wondrous journey through Japan, during the timer for samurai. Haven’t been to Japan, spooky, be memories of the culture and its people. It’s a very book and I heartily recommend it.

Overruling Ascendants and Unfeeling Enforcers

Overall, the story was great. I liked the idea of the ascendance, pulling strings, as humanity begins to crumble upon itself, and it kind of reminds me of the prequel dune series with the Mech overlords over seeing human slavery. The overlords and wardens seemed to have the same purpose and the lines between the two we’re kind of muddled. The main characters were well developed, and even some of the ancillary characters had believable, motivations and fit in well into the plot and storyline.

I do wish that the backstory, for the ascendance was more fully developed, however, and that they took more of a role in the story. Instead, they were only given a chapter or two, and became kind of a backdrop. The reasoning behind the turmoil between Lilith, and the protagonist was never fully understood, although I predict that that would be revealed in a subsequent novel.

Overall, it was worth the money and the time and listen

Blackbeard was kind of a minor character and at times it was a little difficult to follow between the individuals that captain cast long was in countering and who he was fighting against in what the others motivation was. It was a good story, and the ending was very good, but I felt that there could’ve been better transition from chapter 2 chapter.

Book starts simply enough. Caught up by the Spanish Inquisition, Casca becomes a prisoner, but as usual, has time on his side. Within a short time of escape, he is able to book passage back to his previously explored lands, and revisit the Aztecs except this time as a conquistador.
