Historia
Don and Mimi Galvin seemed to be living the American dream. After World War II, Don's work with the Air Force brought them to Colorado, where their 12 children perfectly spanned the baby boom: the oldest born in 1945, the youngest in 1965. In those years, there was an established script for a family like the Galvins—aspiration, hard work, upward mobility, domestic harmony. But behind the scenes was a different story: psychological breakdown, sudden shocking violence, hidden abuse. By the mid-1970s, six of the 10 Galvin boys, one after another, were diagnosed as schizophrenic.

Amazing performance - trigger warnings
Revisado: 04-19-20
This is a fascinating story about family, tragedy and illness. Sean Pratt’s delivery of this story is a work of art. Whether telling the story from the family’s perspective or explaining scientific research, he keeps the listener enthralled. If you’re a person that appreciates warnings for trigger issues, know that the scope of this story contains a myriad of sensitive topics.

More than just romance
Revisado: 05-06-19
I got this because I loved "Blue Midnight," the first book in this series. This book weaves in elements of the first, but is also a fully stand-alone novel. The author took a supporting character from Blue Midnight and turned her into the main character. The same narrator did both books, and did a wonderful job making the main characters distinct and uniquely their own. I highly recommend it!

Historia
Blythe Heywood denied her destiny when she left Finn Lanigan behind 13 years ago to return to her fiancé, a wedding, and the life of safety and security that she'd yearned for since she was a child. But in the wake of her husband's betrayal, Blythe is forced to begin again. And it's her memories of Finn, the only man who ever weakened her knees, that call her across the Pacific Northwest in search of the next chapter in her life.

Beautiful romance with a twist
Revisado: 01-02-19
This book was much more than I expected. It seems to be going one direction when you're thrown a twist...or two. The narrator gives an authentic performance. With an engaging voice, she performs characters that are distinct, yet relatable. I'm so glad this is a series, because there's so much depth of character and story, that I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Historia
The Forgotten Coast of Florida contains the most beautiful beaches in the world. It also hides a secret. A viscous murder causes the area to lock doors, staying inside, away from the glory of nature. Delicious Tupelo honey, the most desirable of the golden nectars, silently gathers in hives. Locals collect it lovingly, as did ancestors before them. Gulf County Detective Sue Gibbs will find the killer regardless of consequences.

Suspenseful with great characters
Revisado: 09-29-18
Murdered Twice builds layers of intrigue as a great protagonist - Dectective Sue Gibbs - has to investigate a murder in her small town. In some cases, interrogating some of her best friends and fellow community members. "The Forgotten Coast" of Florida is like a character of its own, and plays an important role. The narrator, Amanda McKibbin Ogle, deftly navigates the multiple points of view and expertly voices an array of interesting characters.

Historia
Maddy is a devoted stay-at-home wife and mother, host of excellent parties, giver of thoughtful gifts, and bestower of a searingly perceptive piece of advice or two. She is the cornerstone of her family, a true matriarch...until she commits suicide, leaving her husband Brady and teenage daughter Eve heartbroken and reeling, wondering what happened. How could the exuberant, exacting woman they loved disappear so abruptly, seemingly without reason, from their lives? How they can possibly continue without her?

3 Narrators - Nuanced Performances
Revisado: 09-29-18
I couldn't stop listening and enjoyed every minute. There were 3 narrators to distinguish the main characters, and especially with the element of mystery, it makes it so compelling to hear the characters' perspectives. All performances were wonderful, but I give special kudos to Therese Plummer for her portrayal of Eve.
