Beautiful. Magical. Lyrical. I am struggling to put into words this book’s effect on me. In my life, I will listen again and again. There are no overt religious leanings, just an beautiful assurance that our life’s story is part of something beautiful and plentiful. It is my favorite book I have listened to in over 10 years of listening to audiobooks.

Slow start BUT slow burn and WONDERFUL hea

The heroine starts out as a bit of a stick in the mud and the hero is broody, but stick with it if you like to see good people get what they deserve in the end. The reactions and conversations are true to life, in the best way.

Women of the past illuminate and amaze

These accounts of women who dug in and made a difference were amazing and inspiring. I enjoyed that Marianne Monson found accounts of women from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. I will listen to this again.

Profoundly Moving Book

I was moved by this beautiful, heart wrenching and inspiring story. As a non native woman, I learned so much and am grateful for the dive into the intersection of cultures, values, spiritual beliefs, family and so much more. As much as I loved the learning, my listening was driven by a compelling and fascinating plot! I couldn't stop listening. I am so grateful for Angeline Boulley and her persistence in writing this book. I am inspired by this story and the strong women in it.

All the feelings and wonderfully real H/h

This is one of the best historical romances I have listened to in a long time. A scrappy, aspiring female artist from a regular background meets a Duke in a very strange way and a tenuous connection is formed. I really liked that there was real tension and not contrived problems. The narrator was fabulous too. I was gloriously lost in this world. Drove extra to keep on listening.

So very witty!

Dare completely hit the mark in this book! Her dialogue was phenomenal-so funny, not smarmy, really entertaining!

I usually like historical, but . . .

The editors of audible recommended it and it was on sale. I really enjoyed the complexity of characters and the story. While I still love historical of all types, Julie James wrote a really good contemporary romance.

Interesting H&H and unexpexted twist

Helen and Winterborne were both interesting characters. this book had an interesting subplot that at first I thought was going to be very boring but then took a really interesting twist. LOVED the narrator!

Loves the romance! Her books are romantic and so much about character development. Rhis narrator does a lovely job with female voices, which I think is rare in a male narrator! Couldn't quit listening.
