What made the experience of listening to A Christmas Carol: A Signature Performance by Tim Curry the most enjoyable?

Tim Curry's ability to perform all the characters so well makes this a book you will want to listen to over and over again.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely.

Any additional comments?

This is a wonderful story set in a much simpler time. Reinforced, for me, how important and valuable the "little things" are. Really, though, they are not "little". Family, friends, health, moments of joy, etc. A valuable lesson told through a beautiful tale with a wonderful voice. Thank you, Tim Curry, for bringing it to life.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Big Little Life to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version, but I thought the narrator did an excellent job. His reading of the book was one of the highlights for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Big Little Life?

The accounts of Trixie interacting with spirits, both earthly and otherwise. Riveting.

What about Christopher Lane’s performance did you like?

He read the book with such feeling and communicated all the emotions so well, I thought. The essence of what Kootntz was trying to communicate really seemed to come through.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wish I could have, yes. I hope to plan a long road trip with the sole intention of listening to the entire thing again, but this time in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

For those with dogs, so much of what Koontz says rings true -- pointedly true. I cried at times, even when the story was not sad, because it gave words to what I have felt about the dogs I've had in my life. Now that I've finished the book, what I feel most is gratitude. I am grateful to DK for putting these words on paper, both for those who share their lives with dogs as well as for those who do not. Even if there's is only a tiny bit of understanding that creeps through, that is significant. I feel we have only scratched the surface of the wonderful spirit that is the Dog.

I found the writing style and narrator a bit difficult to stomach at times. I was able to look beyond what I found objectionable and extract some good information, however. This is how I have approached many (if not all) of the self-help books I have read over the years and it has proven to work for me. If you begin this book and think to yourself "Ug! I can't take several hours of this!", try to listen for the nuggets of wisdom/good info. They are in there!

I agree with David from Escondido on this one. Don't waste your time.
