Too much romance

It was ok for me- my daughter (11) liked it well enough, I thought it was ok, my son (9) thought it was ok. The amount of romance for us was too much, it made me uncomfortable and I never would have picked it for us to listen to had I known. It’s not a ton ton, but too much for us.

It was ok, we finished it but didn’t love it. I think the narrator did great until she didn’t and made some of the voices so so over the top it was cringey. I wish she hadn’t tried so hard. Story was just meh. Me and my 9 and 11 year old all felt this way.

Ohh I did not like this performance at all! It was so, so over the top. My 11 year old and 9 year old and I all greatly disliked it. It was so cheesy and corny that we turned it off. However, days later my 5 year old requested to finish listening to it. Because he doesn’t like listening to most of our books I obliged, and he said he liked it at the end but ohhhh the rest of us did not! If you don’t like the first few minutes you won’t like the whole thing, I don’t believe it gets any better at all.

I listened with my children, the 9 and 11 year olds were very into it, the 5 year old was too young for it. At first I wasn’t sure if I could get past the narrator’s voice, but as I listened it was actually fine and I think it suited the book well. We all enjoyed the story and they have requested to listen to the next book in the series.

I started this for my five year old, as he typically doesn’t like the audiobooks we listen to (me and my 8 and 10 year old) - so he loved it, he kept asking to listen to it. Everyone else, not so much. I couldn’t wait until it ended, it was just so blah and not great. My older two kids didn’t love it, they thought it was ok. All 3 are Minecraft fans.
