Historia
Washington, DC, 1950. Everyone keeps to themselves at Briarwood House, a down-at-the-heels all-female boardinghouse in the heart of the nation’s capital where secrets hide behind white picket fences. But when the lovely, mysterious widow Grace March moves into the attic room, she draws her oddball collection of neighbors into unlikely friendship. Grace’s weekly attic-room dinner parties and window-brewed sun tea become a healing balm on all their lives, but she hides a terrible secret of her own.

Historia
Frankie O’Neill and Anne Ryan would seem to have nothing in common. Frankie is a lonely ornithologist struggling to salvage her dissertation on the spotted owl following a rift with her advisor. Anne is an Irish musician far from home and family, raising her five-year-old son, Aiden, who refuses to speak. When Frankie finds an injured baby crow in the forest, little does she realize that the charming bird will bring all three lost souls—Frankie, Anne, and Aiden—together on a journey toward hope, healing, and rediscovering joy.

Good Read Based in the Columbia Gorge
Revisado: 11-09-24
Story written with great detail to assist a listener with visualizing the action. Hard to put down after the halfway mark. Unfortunate that the reader did not check with a local as to how to pronounce location names and of the Yakama nation. So easy to do with a simple phone call.

Multiple Story Lines Well Fleshed Out
Revisado: 10-22-24
It took a bit to get into this story, but I was rewarded with an excellent read. The multiple story lines are well crafted and end satisfactorily. Much detail goes into the narrative, making it easy to visualize the scenes. Well done.

This is a continuation of the family story, bringing us into a new place. The facts are well researched and fairly depicted. All of that does not in any way reduce the quality of the entertainment... This is a great listen!

I finished this book a couple of days ago, and am revising my 5-star review to reflect that the end situation for the teenager is not appropriate. It is trading one kind of entrapment for another. A food for thought book.
