Historia
Politicians, economists, and Wall Street would have us believe that limitless economic expansion is the Holy Grail, and that there is no conflict between growing the economy and protecting the environment. Supply Shock debunks these widely accepted myths and demonstrates that we are in fact navigating the end of the era of economic growth, and that the only sustainable alternative is the development of a steady state economy.

brilliant but perhaps too comprehensive
Revisado: 05-08-20
This is a monumental achievement for Brian Czech. It is probably till now the most comprehensive treatment of the steady state economy and how to get there. You might say the same thing about its survey of economics. Too bad Czech's discussion of redistribution of resources couldn't benefit from the lead up to the 2020 election, with its introduction of the idea of guaranteed minimum income triggered by John Yang's campaign, as well as the new economic realities of the Covid 19 pandemic. The economic landscape is entirely different now and Czech's take it would be welcome.
On the other hand, the book may be too comprehensive for readers to grasp the most important points. He spends time on policy recommendation which are non-starters in today's political climate.
