Historia
What happens when falling in love means loving parts of ourselves that we do not believe are worthy? Jane Gray arrives in Chicago with a lot to prove and low expectations for success after her former collegiate coach persuades her to sign a WNBA training camp contract. She doesn’t usually throw caution to the wind, but that’s exactly what happens her first night in town, and she lands in bed with a beautiful stranger. Jane is shocked to discover she slept with Kinzie Lancaster, brand consultant for Jane’s new team—the Chicago Pitbulls.

Great for basketball lovers but… being picky
Revisado: 04-11-25
So many great wnba and woman’s basketball famous names were dropped in this. Which was fun. But I will ALWAYS remember that A’ja was pronounced wrong. If you’re gonna professionally read a book about the W, whether fiction or not, know how to pronounce one of the best players of all times first name.

Historia
Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandment finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading. Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, becomes something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future. Except the discovery of their bond would mean the death of each of them. There’s still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win. That’s how war works, right?

Completely different
Revisado: 02-17-24
This book is completely different than anything I’ve ever read and I could not get enough. I was concerned at first that because of the poetic nature of the writing I would have a hard time listening to it instead of reading a hard copy. But that was quickly a non issue as the narrators did a phenomenal job and the story itself is so captivating it could have never shaken my attention.

Historia
When fourteen-year-old Lamya H realizes she has a crush on her teacher—her female teacher—she covers up her attraction, an attraction she can’t yet name, by playing up her roles as overachiever and class clown. Born in South Asia, she moved to the Middle East at a young age and has spent years feeling out of place, like her own desires and dreams don’t matter, and it’s easier to hide in plain sight. To disappear. But one day in Quran class, she reads a passage about Maryam that changes everything: When Maryam learned that she was pregnant, she insisted no man had touched her.

A must read!

I love how this was written. It was a captivating new perspective and yet felt so true to my own story at the same time. I couldn’t put it down, and it will be a book I will certainly revisit and recommend.

Historia
For Astrid Parker, failure is unacceptable. Ever since she broke up with her fiancé a year ago, she’s been focused on her career—her friends might say she’s obsessed, but she knows she’s just driven. When Pru Everwood asks her to be the designer for the Everwood Inn’s renovation, which will be featured on a popular HGTV show, Innside America, Astrid is thrilled. Not only will the project distract her from her failed engagement and help her struggling business, but her perpetually displeased mother might finally give her a nod of approval.

This was book was recommended to me and I’m so glad!

This book captured me! I devoured it in just 2 days while I was working on my own home renovation. I’m a queer woodworker so I loved it that much more.
