Historia
After a string of dead-end jobs and a death in the family, Ash Ambirge was down to her last $26 and sleeping in a Kmart parking lot when she faced the truth: No one was coming to her rescue. It was up to her to appoint herself. That night led to what eventually became a six-figure freelance career as a sought-after marketing and copywriting consultant, all while sipping coffee from her front porch in Costa Rica.

A great book for our recent college graduate daughter!
Revisado: 05-30-24
I find this to be a great listen for our recent college graduate daughter, who's off to tackle the world! This is a teain of thought that she will enjoy listening to now, rather than after 10 years of struggle! Perhaps hearing it from someone other than Mom & Dad OR better yet, a person that has "been there & done that" of a closer generation may help the light bulb of you can literally do anything with your life will click more sincerely?!? Thanks, Ash!

Historia
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

Exceptional
Revisado: 10-22-20
This work underscored the hostilities of the upbringing and the background which shaped the path that launched Malcolm X! This gives insight to how Malcolm was shaped and re-shaped multiple times. The little details in stories of all the relationships through Malcolm's life that also helped to make the man. Its chilling how many of the prophecies from 1965 has come to pass and the identification of the true intentions of groups still hold true in 2020!!

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Thought provoking but nothing new
Revisado: 05-19-17
The concepts discussed were nothing earth scattering but a few did evoke some thought provoking moments...mostly toward the end after a slow build-up to the abrupt payoff.

Historia
A white-knuckle account of the First Infantry Division’s harrowing D-Day assault on the eastern sector of Omaha Beach - acclaimed historian John C. McManus has written a gripping history that will stand as the last word on this titanic battle. Nicknamed the Big Red One, First Division had fought from North Africa to Sicily, earning a reputation as stalwart warriors on the front lines and rabble-rousers in the rear. Yet on D-Day, these jaded combat veterans melded with fresh-faced replacements to accomplish one of the most challenging and deadly missions ever.
