Bad story, worse ending.
Revisado: 01-01-24
Too long; heroine constantly whining about the same things; unsatisfying ending where story parts don’t come together and plot lines are not resolved.

Double down on excitement
Revisado: 06-10-22
Ms. Booth and Ms. Giguere continue their wonderful partnership in books three and four of the continuing adventures of Sass Collier and her misfit crew as they venture away from Mahina in their makeshift spaceship.
Having done what they can on Mahina to better the lives of its settlers, Sass and company must venture to other planets to find answers to why the Mahina colonists are failing to thrive. There is a wealth of action, suspense and interpersonal drama as one calamity follows another and they face imaginative dangers on the ingeniously crafted worlds created by Ms. Booth. Ms. Giguere again brings vibrant life to the characters with her clever and distinctive narration.
This is space opera at its finest.

Doubleheader of adventure
Revisado: 06-10-22
Combining the imaginative world building of Ms. Booth and the vivid narration of Ms. Giguere, this two pack brings the beginning adventures of Sass Collier to vibrant life.
Sass just wants to improve the lives of the people of Mahina but her previous attempt ended in disaster and a twenty year banishment. Now she is free with her only asset a dilapidated skyship. As she struggles to just eke out a living, she gathers together a motley mix of crew members and clients. Ultimately she is drawn back into the battle between the haves and have-nots and must confront not just an indifferent autocracy but her own inner torments.
For those that have not already been captivated by this remarkable series, this is an excellent opportunity to become acquainted.

Historia
Captain Sass Collier got her crew to Denali. Can she bring them home again? Marooned 35 million miles from their home moon. Not enough fuel to reach orbit again, let alone Mahina. The locals seem friendly. But the planet Denali itself is hostile, from volcanoes to microbes. Thrive has 6 months until their launch window opens - and closes. The prizes Denali offers are jewels beyond price. An actual starship awaits on the sea bottom. The greatest nanite scientist of the system can finally tell Sass how she came to be immortal. Be careful what you ask for.

Thrills and fun from start to finish
Revisado: 11-18-21
Book four in the Thrive series and Ms. Booth continues to pile on the action and suspense. Ms. Giguere does an outstanding job with the characters and is a pleasure to listen to. She also provides one of the funniest and most clever readings I have encountered on Audible when the characters are conversing underwater in a helium atmosphere. Not to be missed!

Great storyteller, great story narrator
Revisado: 09-15-21
The pair of Ms. Booth and Ms. Giguere have created another excellent audio book. I did read the book when it first came out on Kindle and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I have appreciated it all over again listening to it on audio. The story is exciting, amusing and thought provoking without being too heavy handed. And Ms. Giguere does the story justice with her narration. Wherever and whenever you listen to audio books, you will find this an enjoyable way to pass the time.

Historia
Captain Sass Collier steers her motley crew across the treacherous planetary rings, seeking solutions to the steady health decline of Mahina Colony. Tantalizing clues point to Sagamore, Mahina’s sister moon. To get there, Sass needs to upgrade her vintage skyship to a spaceship. Her crew's would-be heroes need to earn their space legs. And ex-cop Sass is probably the wrong person for the job.

A fantastic duo
Revisado: 07-06-21
Once again, the fertile imagination of Ms. Booth and the nuanced performance of Ms. Giguere has created an excellent listening experience. Although I read the book when it first came out on Kindle and really liked it, listening to it brought a whole new richness to the story. The setup of a mismatched crew on a cobbled together spaceship is not new, but the thoughtful world building and rich characterization Ms. Booth brings to the story makes it fresh. And the vocal portrayals Ms. Giguere creates brings the characters to life. Definitely worth the time to listen.

Fun story, excellent narration
Revisado: 05-12-21
As a long time fan of Ginger Booth, I throughly enjoyed Skyship Thrive when I first read it. It has a cast of wonderfully quirky but believable characters in a thoughtfully imagined setting. I am delighted that it has received the first class audible production which it deserves. Veronica Giguere does a splendid job of creating distinctive voices for each character without making them sound cartoonish. Her diction is clear and easy to listen to. All in all, a first class audible book in every regard. Note that this review is based on a pre-issue copy provided by Ms. Booth.

Historia
Like most gentiles in Nazi-occupied Paris, architect Lucien Bernard has little empathy for the Jews. So when a wealthy industrialist offers him a large sum of money to devise secret hiding places for Jews, Lucien struggles with the choice of risking his life for a cause he doesn't really believe in. Ultimately he can't resist the challenge and begins designing expertly concealed hiding spaces - behind a painting, within a column, or inside a drainpipe - detecting possibilities invisible to the average eye. But when one of his clever hiding spaces fails and the immense suffering of Jews becomes incredibly personal, he can no longer deny reality.

I couldn't put this book down. Characters were believable and interesting. Plot was great, with some twists and turns. Captured the feeling of France during the German occupation of Paris during World War, and the question of how people behave in terrible circumstances.
