Slow burn, but burns so GOOD!
Revisado: 08-11-20
Ah, I just finished the book. The narrators are amazing, they really do a great job bringing these characters to life. It’s been a long while since I listened to such a captivating story. The chemistry between the two main characters from the very beginning was wonderfully written. At times I could feel the true excitement and sorrow the characters felt. An amazing world with magic and political power struggles. I highly, HUGHLY recommend this book to everyone, and I’ll be starting the next book soon! An open ending leading into the next book, but with a solid ending. Might I add, gay friendly and being a lesbian myself it was such a great read to not just have male/female relationships.

Historia
Anne Lister was extraordinary. Fearless, charismatic, and determined to explore her lesbian sexuality, she forged her own path in a society that had no language to define her. She was a landowner, an industrialist, and a prolific diarist whose output has secured her legacy as one of the most fascinating figures of the 19th century. Gentleman Jack: The Real Anne Lister follows Anne from her crumbling ancestral home in Yorkshire to the glittering courts of Denmark as she resolves to put past heartbreak behind her and find herself a wife.

Revisado: 06-20-19
I’m so happy I bought this, what an amazing story. I won’t lie, I watched the HBO’s Gentleman Jack before hearing this. Both are truly amazing, what a wonderful insight about a strong and confident woman. Words really do it no justice.

Maybe 8
Revisado: 04-30-19
I’ve listen to this book maybe 8 or more times, the narrator does all the characters justice and the story telling is so engaging. It flows well and is paced wonderfully. One of my all time favorite romance books. You’ll be dying to listen to the all of the books in this series. I’ve actually owned this book for quite some time, never knew I didn’t leave a review. I high recommend this book to anyone who love a adult romance, I’m not saying adult as in sexy times, though it’s not lacking in that department. I’m talking about the adult themes and wonderful ideologies the author writes about. So much wisdom packed into one book. I’m only 25, I feel so young and old at the same time living in today’s world. Time, wisdom, and experiences go hand and hand, and this book series has it all.

Jess Wong is Angie Redmond's best friend. And that's the most important thing, even if Angie can't see how Jess truly feels. Being the girl no one quite notices is OK with Jess anyway. If nobody notices her, she's free to watch everyone else. But when Angie begins to fall for Margot Adams, a girl from the nearby boarding school, Jess can see it coming a mile away. Suddenly her powers of observation are more a curse than a gift.

Didn’t see that coming
Revisado: 10-16-18
Honestly I was really hating the beginning of the book, but at the same time I loved it. The whole love triangle I felt was a bit much but was beautify written because I felt that tang of jealousy deep in the pit of my stomach. I’m sure we have all felt a moment of jealously towards something, hearing it written down and feeling it, I knew I was going to have to finish the book and what a ride. At one moment I was guessing something, then another, and another. A complete twist! I never saw what would happen at the end. A must listen!

Amazing, I was moved to tears!
Revisado: 10-15-18
What an amazing story and read by such an amazing narrator. Truly a great book to the series. I hope there will be more. With an ending like that I’m hopeful for more. There is so much beauty and wisdom in this book. For a young 24 year old lesbian, I found this book to impart so much wisdom and cause me to truly be moved. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Actually excited to see what comes next
Revisado: 10-06-18
I loved The Walking Land, when I jumped into The Memory of Fire I was excited for a new adventure. At first I was a little disappointed about Jahan and how much a cry baby he seems. I found it dragging at first however about 3 hours in I found myself understanding Jahan and wanting to know what happens next. I’m happy to say the story does have a great turning point and a wonderful conclusion with it being wide open for a third book. I’m excited to see what happens next. Great book, a must have after The Waking Land!
