Historia
1963. An anonymous Englishman is hired by the Operations Chief of French terrorist organisation O.A.S. to murder the French president, General Charles de Gaulle. A failed attempt in the previous year means the target will be nearly impossible to reach. Only one man could do the job: an assassin of legendary talent known only as The Jackal. This remorseless and deadly killer must be stopped. But he is a man without a name, without an identity; a lethal spectre.

One of the greats!

This is one of the greats. I can't say more than had already been said about this book and this author. Brilliantly written and brilliantly performed!

Historia
The Martian meets Gravity when Army Pilot Vaughn Singleton, Earth’s last man, rushes to Area 51 in search of a spaceplane after he discovers the last woman is stranded on the International Space Station and barely alive - thus beginning a race against time. The event that wiped life from the planet started at the supercollider. It created a rift in space-time. The astronaut stranded aboard the space station, Commander Angela Brown, is a theoretical physicist who used to work at the collider.

Fun read

An original story in its own right but strong reminders of the Martian and Gravity coming through
I'm not sure I maintained my suspension of disbelief all the way throughout but it was still an enjoyable listen overall.
I enjoyed the voice actors.

Historia
Telescopes on Earth have detected an Earth-sized planet circling a star some 30 light-years away. Now the race is on to get pictures of that distant world that show whether or not the planet is truly like Earth - and if it bears life. Farside observatory will have the largest optical telescope in the solar system and the most sensitive radio telescope, insulated from the interference of Earth’s radio chatter by a thousand kilometers of the moon’s solid body. But building Farside is a complex, dangerous task. And what they ultimately find stuns everyone, and humanity will never be the same.

Slow-moving then Rushed
Revisado: 07-31-23
This felt like it could have been a really great sci-fi who-done-it, but it wasn't. The overall plot was great but the story really seemed to drag for a while in the middle and then suddenly rush to an unsatisfactory end.
Narrators really make or break stories like this and unfortunately this narrator didn't do it for me.
It's a pity as the story had all my favourite elements and the makings of a riveting book.

Good listen. Good story

I'm leaving the review for the entire series in the episode's review.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this podcast but thought that I'd give it a listen between my university series listens.
Wow! Glad that I did. It's brilliant and had me wanting to get onto the next episode, and then the next, and the next after that - right to the end.
Well cast voices (actors) who all came off as authentic and added depth to well developed characters.
The production was great and the ambient sounds and effects were just right.
The chemistry between Elliott and Dobo would have you believe that these two actors have been friends in real life for years.
This has made it into my favorites list for another listen sometime in the future and for more from this production team.
Bravo! Brava! And, thank you!

Historia
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Almost!
Revisado: 12-28-22
I think it was a good enough plot to keep me listening but the focus was so firmly on the social goings on of the women that the investigation/murder-mystery seemed like it was written as an afterthought rather than as a intricately woven part of the narrative.
It would have been great to have been teased early on with the nature of the illicit business and what was actually at stake.
Finally, while the characters were very well developed, some of the actors' voices sounded very similar.
Great potential in this book. I wish the editing and voice casting had been better.
