Historia
Dr. Faith Harper lays it all out: what anxiety is, what it's good for - that's right, it's actually a necessary response that helps to keep us alive in bad situations - how to know when it's gone overboard, and practical tips on how to deal with it when it gets bad. This book is a lifesaver for panic attacks, breaking out of flight-or-fight-or-freeze responses, and for chronic anxiety. It's also good for folks who aren't daily burdened by anxiety, but want to better cope with those tough situations that affect us all.

Too many F bombs!
Revisado: 08-13-23
I really did not like that every sentence or two had at least one curse word in it. Not everyone with anxiety uses that many cuss words and you're going to wind up triggering someone rather than helping them. This could've been a very educational and helpful book without all of the foul language.

Historia
In I'll Give You Something to Cry About, Elizabeth Acker gives a stunning account of growing up under the abusive control of an emotionally and mentally ill mother. Elizabeth is forced to become estranged from her father, and struggles alone to create hope and meaning for her life, while serving her mother like a slave. This audiobook is a true account of a daughter's struggle to survive a mother with paranoia, schizophrenia, and manic depression.

Very realistic
Revisado: 08-29-22
The narrator paints a very clear and vivid picture of what it is like to grow up in her household. When she is repeating what her mother says, I can almost bet it sounded like exactly how her mother would have said it. I didn’t think she should have tried to make her voice sound like a man though, because that was really fake. When she made the sound of the belt, I got a little bit freaked out it reminded me of being spanked. I feel that there should be a trigger warning on this book since it does sound so realistic.

Going off topic
Revisado: 02-08-21
I really did not like this book because it kept talking about things that were very off-topic like your skin and your eyes.
