Historia
The American supermarket is an everyday miracle. But what does it take to run one? What are the inner workings of product delivery and distribution? Who sets the price? And who suffers for the convenience and efficiency we’ve come to expect? In this rollicking exposé, author Benjamin Lorr pulls back the curtain on this highly secretive industry.

Historia
We’ve been told that a vegetarian diet can feed the hungry, honor the animals, and save the planet. Lierre Keith believed in that plant-based diet and spent twenty years as a vegan. But in The Vegetarian Myth, she argues that we’ve been led astray - not by our longings for a just and sustainable world, but by our ignorance. e truth is that agriculture is a relentless assault against the planet, and more of the same won’t save us. In service to annual grains, humans have devastated prairies and forests, driven countless species extinct, altered the climate, and destroyed the topsoil - the basis of life itself....

A feminist perspective why men sucks
Revisado: 02-16-23
No new info; feminist propaganda disguised as educational purposes; mostly I avoid female authors because of this common approach to trash men and elevate females but the title made want to listen , at the end it was just another feminist’s book.

Historia
As acclaimed psychological researcher and author David Buss writes, "People are mesmerized by murder. It commands our attention like no other human phenomenon, and those touched by its ugly tendrils never forget." Though we may like to believe that murderers are pathological misfits and hardened criminals, the vast majority of murders are committed by people who, until the day they kill, would seem to be perfectly normal.

Not much to learn; mostly blaming men
Revisado: 02-16-23
Can’t really prove anything other than mention that women kills too but men are horrible predators; very biased against men and very good at excuses for women. Not a very smart study of how and why the killer instinct in human is universal.
Watch “deadly women” series and you may learn more than this book.

Historia
The Lucifer Priciple is a revolutionary work that explores the intricate relationships among genetics, human behavior, and culture to put forth the thesis that "evil" is a by-product of nature's strategies for creation and that it is woven into our most basic biological fabric. Though this argument is not a new one - it has been brought forth by such great historical figures as St. Paul, Thomas Hobbes, and Raymond Dart - Howard Bloom here takes fresh data from a variety of sources and shapes it into a lens through which listeners can reinterpret the human experience.

White washed colonizers propaganda
Revisado: 02-13-23
Nothing new and little science to be found in here. This is a typical narcissistic “european american colonizers” propaganda; it talks trash of others which are true; but never mentioned the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atrocities and the genocidal of natives Americans and the continuing of exploitation of the southern hemisphere; he speaks as if the Europeans american hold the absolute true and hence should be listened to.
Unless you are one of these delusional working class person that is numb to the perception of others and you don’t want to learn factual things then this book is for you.

In this extraordinary follow-up to the critically acclaimed The Lucifer Principle, Howard Bloom - one of today's preeminent thinkers - offers us a bold rewrite of the evolutionary saga. Global Brain is more than just a brilliantly original contribution to the ongoing debate on the inner workings of evolution; it is a "grand vision," says the eminent evolutionary biologist David Sloan Wilson, a work that transforms our very view of who we are and why.

another white washed european centrist "scientific
Revisado: 02-11-23
Narrator is easy to follow and understand; i rate the narrator's job *****, I can't say the same about the content of this book, sounds like another european-american centrist propaganda pamphet, it mentions lot of interesting studies and observations, and some how alway terminates to exemplfy how "great and smart and strong" europe and colonizer squatters of the 1400-2023 years have been.
I managed to listen the entire book because i was working on my roof and the narrator's voice is melodic to me, if was not for the narrator, i would have returned this book granted i paid for it which i did not, it was included in the amazon memebership.

Is like a romance novel, you will not learn facts
Revisado: 02-09-23
It’s like a wishful list and anecdotes of a very small sample of anonymous women from colonized places in the world with a predetermined white european-american mentality.
Most of the first half (I gave up in chapter 8) tells what these women experienced and how they see the sexual relationship of their own.
Then the person’s writing try to interpret those anecdotes and some how accommodating some psychological observation from “bust’s lab” .
If you are a very high body count 304 woman or you are a woman that is hooked with romance novel this will be a treat to read for you.
If you are a man that needs empirical and reliable data to understand why women have sex (alpha £uck beta buck, hypergamous nature, and epiphany phase) you will learn a lot more from Rollo Tomassi The Rational Male Series.

Interesting take on human life
Revisado: 02-07-23
Like any other white colonizers perspective , this book focuses on white people ideals but I’m glad that at the end the author mentioned the native Americans form of government, but nevertheless it lacks of considerable knowledge about how natives created and lived for thousands of years before colonizers squatters invaded and “reformed” and claimed “democracy

Historia
We humans like to think of ourselves as highly evolved creatures. But if we are supposedly evolution's greatest creation, why do we have such bad knees? Why do we catch head colds so often - 200 times more often than a dog does? How come our wrists have so many useless bones? And are we really supposed to swallow and breathe through the same narrow tube? Surely there's been some kind of mistake. As professor of biology Nathan H. Lents explains in Human Errors, our evolutionary history is nothing if not a litany of mistakes, each more entertaining and enlightening than the last.
