Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

LOVED IT!!
Revisado: 06-03-24
First, Scott Brick did a fantastic job as usual as the narrator.
Second, I miss Michael Crichton’s books so much and this was a very happy gift to all his fans. What made Mr. Crichton stand out as an author was his attention to the smallest details. I love books when the author treats his readers as intelligent people and give us technical details but doesn’t over do those details that it bogs the story down. I was at the edge of my seat most of the book.
If you find Volcanos interesting, then you’ll love this novel.

Historia
The potential impact of runaway climate-change has long been grossly underestimated. The world is rapidly approaching an existential crisis—the Anthropogenic Extinction—the sixth annihilation of Earth-bound species since life first appeared 3.5 billion years ago. Assisted by teammates Eric Evans and Bella Moreno, and Thay Tuan, the team’s consigliere, Luc Ponti, now an astrophysicist at MIT, succeeds in creating a stabilized micro-wormhole, which is launched by NASA into high-Earth orbit and used as a means to contact intelligent life on exoplanets well within the “Goldilocks” zone.

Terrible narrator
Revisado: 07-06-23
I enjoyed the first two books and finished them both in a single day each. Book 3, Cosmic Contact, I have started and stopped countless times now. It’s like listening to someone read an instruction booklet. Almost every voice sounds the same with no, and I do mean no inflections with zero acting. The narrator is just reading the book. I can’t finish the book because I keep rewinding the audiobook over and over again due to losing my train of thought. My attention is everywhere but on this book. The audiobook narrators/actors should ACT out their characters, give them a voice, and most importantly, breathe life into the characters and books!!

Historia
Then: First Lieutenant Sean Elliott and nine other mixed-service US soldiers on a convoy in Afghanistan suddenly found themselves and their MRAP vehicle thrown back to Earth’s Paleolithic Age. And they were not alone. Displaced Romans, Neolithic Europeans, and more showed up as well. Some would be allies. Some became deadly foes. Now: Scientists from an almost unimaginably far future need the survivors’ advice and support to reconnoiter and ultimately recover other groups displaced in time.

BORING-NO ACTION/Rape theme prominent throughout story
Revisado: 03-28-23
What happened? The first book was pretty good but this book had zero action or tension.
The author constantly talked about the”fat scientist chics” and their weight. He focused a lot of energy on women’s appearances. It got old very fast. I really don’t care what each man is thinking about said woman all the time. I understood the women scientists were FAT after the 2nd time but the 100th was overkill.
A rape theme was prominent throughout the book. The servicewomen who were lost in time were made to sleep with the tribesmen for the years during the time they were lost so their whole party could stay with the tribe. THAT IS RAPE!! The women didn’t have a choice and their squad pretty much forced the women to do it so they could all survive. What bothered me was it was joked about and talked about nonchalantly like it didn’t bother the men OR the women. The women were totally fine with it. Women are never fine with becoming s*# slaves. These topics should be properly addressed when writing about it not played off as a joke. Two servicemen loved sleeping with lots of little girls, that was addressed a lot better.
This book had zero action or tension in it. It was just simply boring and extremely annoying.

An attitude? Why not? After all, what would you do if you were abducted by aliens and transported into a strange new universe away from your home, your family - everything familiar to you? Would it make you happy? Not likely! Now imagine you're stronger, faster, and more coordinated than every alien species you encounter. Would you start kicking some ass? Of course you would! This is the story of human superiority in the galaxy, a gritty, realistic profile of a young Navy SEAL who doesn't like aliens very much - and he makes them pay for the bad mood he's in.

The narrator has a main character’s voice who sounds like Steve Uriel!
Revisado: 03-08-22
I have started and stopped this audiobook around six times due to the narrator. His voices are pretty horrible except when he uses his regular voice. One character’s voice sound exactly like Steve Uriel from the tv show Family Matters. WHY WHY WHY would anyone use that tone/voice for a main character? He is also very monotoned. The series has promise, I think. I finally finished the book but I just can’t keep listening to the rest of the series unfortunately.

Struggling with writer’s block and a tight deadline for his new novel, David Pragmore suggests a retreat away from Hartford to his wife, Susan, in order to find fresh inspiration. The publishers want David’s new book to shine in the horror genre, so when David reads about the odd manor with a haunted past, it seems like the perfect place to recapture his muse. But David and Susan quickly discover that some stories aren’t meant to be told.

Too much internal dialogue.
Revisado: 08-18-21
The author wrote a book with VERY LITTLE dialogue. Chapters went by with 99% of the text as internal musings or history. The book was just plain boring because of this problem. There HAS to be conversations to move a story along. There was a massive info dump during the 3 prologues. The couple should have found all this info out after they moved into the Manor from people of the town. I just fast forwarded most of the book to how how it ended.

Annie Collins is back! Becoming an overnight celebrity at age 16 should have been a lot more fun. Not helping matters: she’s the only kid in school with her own pet spaceship. She would love it if things found some kind of normal, but as long as she has control of the most lethal - and only - interstellar vehicle in existence, that isn’t going to happen. Worse, things appear to be going in the other direction.

GREAT BOOK!
Revisado: 06-09-21
I thought this sequel was great and it left it open for a third book. No, there wasn’t a cliffhanger, thank God. I also thought this narrator is an excellent actor but why did the producers have an older gentleman used for these two book? These books are about a female teenage so why wouldn’t a female, at least, be used? Like I said, the actor was very good but didn’t fit in this role. It took me 5-6 times on each book to get into it. It just throws you at first and I couldn’t sink down into these audiobooks. I would definitely listen to another audiobook this narrator did though.

VERY BORING
Revisado: 02-28-21
I bought this book and thought it was going to be about a haunted island. No ghosts showed up, except for a dead cat, until the 4 hour LEFT MARK. So, for 3 hours and 14 minutes, the only thing I heard was how unbelievably stupid this MC was.
****Spoilers****
The Daisy goes to her mentor/father figure’s island for a writers’ retreat every year. The moment she steps out of the car, a man tells her Greg, mentor, has died and left everything to her. He hustles her into a board meeting and they try to get her to sign over the publishing company and everything that goes with it. This company doesn’t have a Board of Directors so, ding ding ding, red flag here. It was set up in a hurry in case she couldn’t do her job.
Through out the whole book she is pressured by the Board and a buyer for her new company. Nothing was prepared for this writers’ retreat, NOTHING. OK, here are the problems. Greg knew he was dying and set everything up for the Daisy in his Will but he never pick the food out for the retreat, never had ANYTHING prepared for the retreat?? This man who does this every year wasn’t prepare or at least, knowing he was dying, had someone like an assistant in place to help him or Daisy? Really?? How about the Daisy going about this on a wing and a prayer instead of hiring an assistant for herself? Why isn’t she demanding to see the Will and all the papers connected to the Will? Why isn’t she flying in a high end lawyer to help her with the Board, the company, and the Will itself? Why is she meeting with the buyer by herself when she knows he is violent? Daisy was supposed to be an International best-selling author and yet she made mistakes a 15 year kid would make. Why isn’t she questioning and demanding answers? Why isn’t she hiring people to help her out, especially an attorney? I hate when authors write about stupid and/or incompetent MCs. The readers aren’t stupid so why write about MCs that are supposed to be smart yet dumb as a box of rocks? Do they think we, as a reader, won’t pick up on this? It won’t frustrate us when solutions are right there in front of the MCs?

BORING AND SLOWWWW
Revisado: 02-27-21
I’ve read a lot of Michael Anderle’s books and they’re usually great but this one is so HORRIBLE!! Extremely slow and just plain boring. The writing is all over the place and way too many filler pages. For example, it seemed like the author told us about her motorcycle and the other past types of motorcycles for 15 minutes. Who cares, really? This woman keeps passing out from never eating but eating would make her a better witch. She has no idea what she is doing but hey, let’s try this one spell with a warning on it that it could kill you. Then you have 3 drug dealers trying to start a gang war, another 2 office guys and then you have witches who seem pretty incompetent. I would so pass on this audiobook unless you like being frustrated by EVERYONE in a book.

WOW, JUST WOW!!
Revisado: 11-12-19
An amazing finish to an incredible trilogy. It's too hard to summarize this book without giving away spoilers. Needless to say, this book had so many twists and turns that I had to relisten to the last hour and a half or so over. Not because I didn't understand it but to fully grasp the awe factor of it. I'm still thinking about it and probably will for a very long time. I LOVE books that make you really think, not about the technical aspects but the meaning or message behind the book. I promise you, it will leave you in awe. Thank you so much Mr. Riddle for writing a book that I will never forget!
