Historia
Every time Bill Bryson walks out the door, memorable travel literature threatens to break out. His previous excursion on the Appalachian Trail resulted in the best seller A Walk in the Woods. Now, we follow him "Down Under" to Australia with this delectably funny, fact-filled, and adventurous performance that combines humor, wonder, and unflagging curiosity. More from Bill Bryson.

Insightful Perspective About Australia
Revisado: 06-06-19
I love Bill Bryson's perspective on the different odditees of Australia. His way of relating these odditees and his journey through Oz using funny descriptions is what makes the book worth reading. After completion, you'll have a new found respect for a country you likely knew little to nothing about.

Historia
When David Mauro was in his 40s, his life hit rock bottom. With nothing to lose, he left everything he knew behind and set out on an epic international adventure. For the next seven years, Dave trudged across glaciers and frozen wastelands and through dense, dangerous forests. He communed with penguins and elephants, kept company with cannibals and gunrunners, and spoke with the dead. And though he’d never been a climber, he ended up joining history’s courageous few when he ascended into the clouds to stand at the summit of Mt. Everest.

A Climbing Book for the Non-Climber
Revisado: 03-15-19
Great book following Dave on his journey. Details the climbing from a beginner's perspective, and gives insight to the human side of climbing. Some interesting descriptions of the positive and negative aspects of his trips to help put you right there with him.

Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Great audiobook / podcast / interview. Definitely lucky to have heard this over just reading the book. So many extras in between the chapters. Highly recommended!
