Revisado: 08-08-24
The book kept me listening although the narration was sometimes a bit annoying. This is the 3rd book in a series so I had to see it through!

Historia
The media have descended on Garrett Island, a small, isolated community that is the setting of a visionary experiment. All the residents’ cars were sent to the mainland and for the past month the islanders have been “driving” the Arrival, a revolutionary autonomous vehicle. With a simple voice command, an Arrival will take you wherever you want to go and, because the fleet is networked and aware of one another, car travel is now 100% safe. The future, it seems, has arrived.

I liked the book- the ending felt a bit rushed but it was a good listen. A bit different from Linwood Barclays other books that I’ve listened to.

Historia
When Jax receives nine missed calls from her older sister, Lexie, she assumes that it’s just another one of her sister’s episodes. Manic and increasingly out of touch with reality, Lexie has pushed Jax away for over a year. But the next day, Lexie is dead: drowned in the pool at their grandmother’s estate. When Jax arrives at the house to go through her sister’s things, she learns that Lexie was researching the history of their family and the property. And as she dives in deeper herself, she discovers that the land holds a far darker past than she could have ever imagined.

I liked the narrator. Love the back and forth of the story from past to present. Also like the Vermont setting. Liked “Children on the Hill” better but this was good too.

Historia
On a night flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing very intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that's going stale and his wife, Miranda, who he's sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start - he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit - a contrast that once inflamed their passion but has now become a cliché.

Different take on the zombie thing
Revisado: 10-31-18
I enjoyed this book- just downloaded the next in the series. It got a little goofy at times but overall a different take on the genre from more of a women’s perspective. A bit predictable but not as much as other Z series I’ve listened to. If you like this genre, it’s worth the credit. Kept me listening!

I took a chance on this series after listening to “the naturalist” series by Andrew Mayne. Have loved both. Different than your normal FBI/police crime thriller - it can get a little out there but it’s fun and different. Just downloaded book 3...

Historia
Detective Angie Pallorino took down a serial killer permanently and, according to her superiors, with excessive force. Benched on a desk assignment for twelve months, Angie struggles to maintain her sense of identity—if she's not a detective, who is she? Then a decades-old cold case washes ashore, pulling her into an investigation she recognizes as deeply personal. Angie's lover and partner, James Maddocks, sees it, too. But spearheading an ongoing probe into a sex-trafficking ring while keeping Angie's increasing obsession with her case in check is taking its toll.
