Historia
Grayson Hawthorne was raised as the heir apparent to his billionaire grandfather, taught from the cradle to put family first. Now the great Tobias Hawthorne is dead and his family disinherited, but some lessons linger. When Grayson’s half-sisters find themselves in trouble, he swoops in to do what he does best: take care of the problem—efficiently, effectively, mercilessly. And without getting bogged down in emotional entanglements.

The Morning Myth

Historia
Society largely praises early risers, while maligning so-called "night owls." However, countless research studies have consistently shown that night owls are more successful and wealthier than early risers. The Morning Myth is intended to show that, indeed, night owls are generally more successful in life than early risers. The book is intended to restore self-confidence to night owls and help them to achieve more on their natural schedules, and also to inform employers on just how much productivity they're losing by forcing night owls to be at work bright and early....

A lot of repetition.
Revisado: 07-13-23
I'm about halfway through, and I think I got it... so far, this whole book has been mostly a jerk fest for night owls to say, "ACTUALLY, I'm better than you, and here's why." As an extreme night owl myself, it is nice to hear a counter-argument to The Miracle Morning. This book has given me a few resources to pull up the next time my mom tries to tell me that at 31 I shouldn't be staying up late like I do, nor should I allow my teenager to do it too. Overall, it's an alright story if you don't mind a lot of repetition. The narration, however, is rather distracting due to the fact that the book seems to have been primarily recorded in one studio and re-recorded pieces done in a different studio. The sudden vocal pitch changes make it sound almost like a second person is butting in and finishing his sentences at random throughout the book. 3 🌟's because of the very obvious re-recorded pieces. 3 🌟's because of repetition. The whole thing is kinda meh. It's worth giving to a tyrant of an early bird boss, though.

very easily applicable knowledge broken down to help a person formulate new or break old habits successfully... now I'm off to think about how I'm going to apply this to the disaster that is my bedside and hopefully clear the clutter forever

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

This story makes me feel like shit, and I love it!
Revisado: 09-02-22
Before reading this book I too looked at the seals and the rangers as damn near God's among men... but this mother fucker blew them out of the water... he takes you on a ride to dispell any excuse a person could have for why they can't make themselves great... and I must say my excuses are purely pathetic in the face of the ones he once had at his disposal... Goggins you are the hero that those military legends are made of and then some... this is truly one of few things in my life that has done so much in such a short time to clarify and guide my path... I will definitely be referring back to this many many times from here forward... Thank you for sharing your life with us all.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Thought provoking and potentially life changing
Revisado: 04-23-20
I loved this book... it has me reeling... I just discovered Mark Manson about a month ago while doing some google soul searching and avoiding... I was trying to find answers to questions I didn't know how to ask and I was met with quite the wealth of information... I can't think of one person who would not benefit from taking a good look at their life through this book. it is a must read (or listen) for anyone who is "trying".
