Revisado: 01-16-23
This was so good! I binged the whole series in one day. Well researched, easy to follow, with tons of twists. Janhoi is a great journalist and understands how to convey techy info in a way anyone can understand. I really hope Audible will support more of his work.

Historia
Guy is about to finish writing his breakthrough online article. He overheard the story by chance in a pub and it’s guaranteed to go viral - all he needs to do is persuade the World’s Unluckiest Man to talk to him. His best friend Larry’s quest for killer clickbait material has led him to a recently appeared shanty town in Glasgow, where he finds some kind of urban voodoo cult. Ex-cop Sam has already come face-to-face with the terrifying force behind both these phenomena, but he’s been trying to put it out of his mind.

Smitherd Smashes it Yet Again!
Revisado: 06-17-21
I've listened to all of Luke Smitherd's books (some more than once) and loved every one of them. Smitherd is a double threat because, not only are his books innovative, exciting, and sometimes terrifying, he's also an incredible narrator. I know that some listeners are wary of audiobooks that look self-published and are narrated by the author. But, when it comes to Smitherd, the author narration is a good thing. He understands his own characters and really nails the dialogue. Never mind that you'll never be able to guess what's going to happen next. The edge of your seat will be worn out by the end. Highly recommend!

Historia
It is 2059, and the world has crashed. Forty years ago, a solar catastrophe began to slow the planet's rotation to a stop. Now, one half of the globe is permanently sunlit, the other half trapped in an endless night. Ellen Hopper is a scientist living on a frostbitten rig in the cold Atlantic. She wants nothing more to do with her country after its slide into casual violence and brutal authoritarianism. Yet when two government officials arrive demanding she return to London to see her dying college mentor, she accepts—and begins to unravel a secret.

Wow! So good!
Revisado: 02-11-20
I'm a huge fan of QI and "No Such Thing As A Fish", so listening to this was like reading a book that a friend wrote and thinking "Wow! I didn't know he was so talented." The book is utterly unexpected if you think of Andrew hunter Murray as a comedian. It's not a funny book. But, don't let that stop you. The same mental gymnastics that make Andrew so great at dishing up surprisingly interesting trivia make him an excellent story teller and great at pondering the "what if" kind of tale. The characters are compelling. The world is well described. The plot is twisty and turny and awesome all the way through. Absolutely worth your credit and your time.

I wasn't sure that I would like an audio version of a comic book. Wow! I'm so glad that I gave this a shot. I couldn't turn it off. It was nail biting from beginning to end. The audio effects are amazing and the voice actors make it all come to life.

Yes, the characters are a bit sterotypical. Yes, zombies have been done to death. Even so, this is a really fun book. It's not going to change your life, but you will laugh. Well worth the listen if you're looking for an escape with plenty of chuckles thrown in.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

Dommek tells a great story. A true crime story, a personal story, a paranormal story. I was entranced and entertained from the moment I pressed play. Full of engaging audio, interviews with interesting locals, court recordings. It's just great from beginning to end.

Historia
Churchill is Prime Minister for the last time. Rationing is still in force. All music sounds like the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. People like living in 1952: it's familiar and reassuring, and Britain knows its place in the world. Few have noticed it's been 1952 for the past 65 years. Meet Professor Quanderhorn; a brilliant, maverick scientific genius who has absolutely no moral compass. With his Dangerous Giant Space Laser, High Rise Farm, Invisible Robot and Fleet of Monkey-driven Lorries, he's not afraid to push the boundaries of science to their very limit.

Revisado: 08-06-18
If you like Monty Python-esque humor or the Warlock Holmes series, you'll enjoy this one. This book is an awesome parody of the Quartermass Experiments but don't worry if you're not familiar with the original. Anyone who's read or watched any SciFi will get the jokes in this book. Clever and absurd with laughs that will catch you by surprise.

Revisado: 03-11-18
Every time I listen to one of Yahtzee's books I prepare to be embarrassed in public. I can't count how many times a snort, giggle, or outright guffaw has slipped out in public because one of his books is on in my headphones. The plots are clever, the dialogue is hilarious, and Croshaw narrates them perfectly.
