Shallow story, deceptive title, empty purpose.
Revisado: 02-19-25
The middle and ending are not clear or telling. It was unfinished at best honestly.

Historia
St. Paul, Minnesota. October 1, 1917. High above the city, a renowned local financier named Artemis Dodge lies facedown on the floor of his armored penthouse sanctuary, a single bullet hole in his head. Thirty stories up, in the city’s tallest building, and not a shred of evidence or sign pointing to anyone having broken into the wealthy man’s fortress. It is - to all appearances - an impossible crime.

Where’s Sherlock?
Revisado: 06-18-23
Although Sherlock was missing most of the time it was still a good book in and of itself. Hopefully the next book will have more Sherlock. But Rafferty is great!

It is the autumn of 1880, and Dr. John Watson has just returned from Afghanistan. Badly injured and desperate to forget a nightmarish expedition that left him doubting his sanity, Watson is close to destitution when he meets the extraordinary Sherlock Holmes, who is investigating a series of deaths in the Shadwell district of London. Several bodies have been found, the victims appearing to have starved to death over the course of several weeks, and yet they were reported alive and well mere days before.

WORST WORK (by the Author) YET! Couldn’t Finish
Revisado: 05-30-23
Sci Fi, Fantasy & Supernatural; All things Sherlock Holmes is designed to disprove. But this story does the opposite & embraces the untrue & illogical approach to solving a case. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is rolling over in his grave given the disrespect of the Genesis of his characters… Great narrator though! But I couldn’t finish unfortunately.

Historia
Dr. Barnabus Milligan has always felt called to help people, whether that means setting a broken bone or rescuing the impoverished women of London from their desperate lives on the streets, as part of his work with the Dread Penny Society. Three years ago, he helped rescue Gemma Kincaid by secretly marrying her to protect her from her family of notorious grave robbers. But six months after Gemma and Barnabus exchanged vows, she realized her love for her new husband was unrequited. To protect her heart, she left.

Sketchy Beginning, Solid Story Overall & A Tremendous Ending.
Revisado: 04-09-23
Nothing against the narrator, but it seems out of character (literally) to change the reader at such a crucial point, nonetheless the overall story supersedes those slight auditory qualms. The story started slowly and somewhat confusing, so that coupled with the foreign narrator almost caused me to pass on this one. That is the only flaw that others may have conceded to, but hopefully not bc it is a well written story as it comes to story telling. If Justine Eyre is available for the next one please please allow her to finish what she started. But if not I will continue to bite the bullet & who knows may even get used to this narrator. But let it at least be her again if not Justine. Not trying to seem rude but at least I’ve given a high rating, which is well deserved! Thank you Sarah!

Historia
The year 1894. The monstrous Hound of the Baskervilles has been dead for five years, along with its no less monstrous owner, the naturalist Jack Stapleton. Sir Henry Baskerville is living contentedly at Baskerville Hall with his new wife, Audrey, and their three-year-old son, Harry. Until, that is, Audrey’s lifeless body is found on the moors, drained of blood. It would appear some fiendish creature is once more at large on Dartmoor and has, like its predecessor, targeted the unfortunate Baskerville family.

Historia
When Evangeline is sent to live in a small mill town in Northern England as a schoolteacher in 1871, she finds herself struggling to fit in with an unfamiliar culture. Raised with the high-class Victorian values and ideals of a sophisticated upbringing, she is unprepared for the poverty she finds in the gritty factory town of Smeatley, where the locals speak with a hard-to-understand Yorkshire accent and struggle to thrive with few resources or opportunities. Though she has no training as a teacher, she must prove herself successful before her grandfather will release her inheritance.
