Fantastic no-BS realistic take!
Revisado: 05-20-24
She really dives into why people don’t practice healthy habits and how to become the kind of person that does. Very insightful. Tells it like it is, no bull. The frequent profanity nailed the points home, haha. Overall so glad I decided to read & will be recommending to my friends and family!

My favorite SIGMA Force novel!
Revisado: 03-08-24
This was my introduction to James Rollins and to this day remains my favorite of all his books. It has such an intrigueing premise, a great balance of all the stories - that classic mix of science, action, mystery, death, daring, disaster, and victory. Cannot recommend this book enough!

Historia
A United Nations relief team in a small village in the Congo makes an alarming discovery. An unknown force is leveling the evolutionary playing field. Men, women, and children have been reduced to a dull, catatonic state. The environment surrounding them—plants and animals—has grown more cunning and predatory, evolving at an exponential pace. The insidious phenomenon is spreading from a cursed site in the jungle — known to locals as the Kingdom of Bones —and sweeping across Africa, threatening the rest of the world.

One of my favorite SIGMA force novels!
Revisado: 03-08-24
This book has become my second favorite of all of SIGMA’s novels. It has everything, and it comes together so well. I found myself in the copy room at work with the book playing in one AirPod, *crying* about an elephant. Fantastic story, one of his best, highly recommend!

Historia
A construction project beneath the National Mall reveals a dark secret dating back to the Civil War, something buried by a cabal of scientists, led by Alexander Graham Bell, who helped found the Smithsonian Institution. It is a cache of bones, preserved in amber, protecting a wonder like no other, the very secret of life after death. But such a prize is guarded by a horror out of the ancient past, a horror that still lives in the marrow of those bones - and is now free again.

Love it!
Revisado: 03-08-24
Did I think what the next SIGMA novel needed was killer wasps? Chapters from the wasp POV? No. But I loved this book! James Rollins has a knack for taking the most random threat and turning it into a nightmare for his protagonists to conquer. I particularly loved the chapters focusing on amber, as it holds a special place in my heart and I don’t think people appreciate it / geek out about it enough.

I’ll admit there were times when this book had a different feel than some of the others, but overall it’s a fantastic book with a great story.

We need more books like this!
Revisado: 11-21-23
Essentially, this is a coming-of-age exploring-the-world story set in a fascinating other world similar to (or possibly a part of) our own. The cultures and beliefs are set up so well and the struggles and joys of the characters well-written and relatable. I’ll hold this book in a special place in my heart!
This author does have a unique writing style that might not be for everyone, but I greatly enjoyed it. The narration was fantastic, so many characters and accents all done flawlessly.

Historia
When Bob Tarte bought a house in rural Michigan, he was counting on a tranquil haven. Then Bob married Linda. She wanted a rabbit, which seemed innocuous enough until the bunny chewed through their electrical wiring. And that was just the beginning. Before long, Bob found himself constructing cages, buying feed, clearing duck waste, and spoon-feeding a menagerie of furry and feathery residents. His life of quiet serenity vanished, and he unwittingly became a servant to a relentlessly demanding family.
