Historia
A suicide bomber boards a crowded bus in central London. Ex-SAS captain Gabriel Wolfe is having a coffee just yards away. In the ensuing carnage, Gabriel is plunged into a bloody memory of his last, botched mission. Plagued by visions of the dead comrade he left behind, Gabriel now freelances for The Department, a secret British Government hit squad. He wants to take out whoever ordered the attack. Gabriel's desire for vengeance leads him to Eden, the Brazilian rainforest compound of a religious cult called The Children of Heaven.

Revisado: 10-28-21
First time I’ve given up on book so early in. The narrator is just too hard to listen to.

Did Ben Coes really write this?
Revisado: 09-11-21
I’m not trying to be funny but I really have to wonder if the same person wrote this as the previous books in the series. It’s almost like it was written by someone who is passingly familiar with the characters and past plot lines. There are so many inconsistencies that it’s hard to keep track. For example: first wife suicide/ first wife murdered; new Vice President sworn in/ no Vice President chosen; past enemy dead/ past enemy still alive, etc
But worse than the change in concrete facts is a change in the tone of the book that is hard to describe. Beyond obvious character changes like having Dewey suddenly hate/ fear water when he previously had many experiences that showed he didn’t; his actions and dialogue just aren’t consistent with his established persona.
I don’t know whether there were big changes in the editing team, the author, or what, but this book just did not meet the standard set in the earlier ones. I finished it, but for the first time have to say I didn’t enjoy a Dewey Andreas book.

Great new narrator - interesting mixed genre story
Revisado: 03-12-18
What did you love best about My Temporary Life?
I really enjoyed the turn toward more mystery oriented story line.
Have you listened to any of Fraser McFarlane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is a new narrator, but I really enjoyed the cadence and inflections. I hope to hear more.
