In Decisive, the Heaths, based on an exhaustive study of the decision-making literature, introduce a four-step process designed to counteract these biases. Written in an engaging and compulsively listenable style, Decisive takes readers on an unforgettable journey, from a rock star’s ingenious decision-making trick to a CEO’s disastrous acquisition, to a single question that can often resolve thorny personal decisions.

Very practical ...
Revisado: 05-11-13
I found the practical steps very useful.
Just knowing the biases we have and the stats on just improving the process of decision making by involving more people makes a big difference was very useful advice.
The fact that billion dollar decisions were made w/ out even counter points being made due to confirmation bias.
Even asking people to come up w/ more than one choice so they dont get attached to a single choice.
Lots of insights ... now which audible book to buy next ... try to avoid the familiarity bias ...

Its long but so is our history ...
Revisado: 02-19-13
I really enjoyed this book, it wasn't too technical and not too fluffy either, it was just right :)
Since I took chemistry and physics 20 years ago, it was good to catch up and refresh my brain on what has happened in our history.
Note this covers history of the universe, physics, chemistry, evolution, etc, all the sciences.
It doesn't cover human history other than evolution, which was kind of nice not to have it but if Bill does a book on human history, I would like to listen to that as well.

Historia
The Internet has profoundly changed the way people communicate and interact with each other. It has also changed the way businesses communicate with current and potential customers. In the old days, marketers could only communicate through the filter of expensive advertising or media ink placed by a PR firm. Today, the rules have changed entirely.

I liked this book, it gave you an overall view of what you could be doing and I liked the honesty of the author to say that he doesnt do everything he says, you have to choose what you think you can do.

Historia
Nate Silver built an innovative system for predicting baseball performance, predicted the 2008 election within a hair’s breadth, and became a national sensation as a blogger - all by the time he was 30. He solidified his standing as the nation's foremost political forecaster with his near perfect prediction of the 2012 election. Silver is the founder and editor in chief of the website FiveThirtyEight. Drawing on his own groundbreaking work, Silver examines the world of prediction, investigating how we can distinguish a true signal from a universe of noisy data.

Could be shorter ...
Revisado: 02-19-13
There is a lot of background material that goes over prediction for climate change, stock market and terrorism which is okay but the real mechanics of bayes is really only a small portion of the book.
There are other books that cover bayes in more in depth so that's fine but it felt like 75% of the book was talking about backgrounds that really what you can do step by step to do better.
Maybe if I didnt get the unabridged version, it might have been more concise to what I was looking for.

What really counts in startup product development
Revisado: 10-23-11
This book makes you think about what is the minimum viable product you need to get your product started.
We waste so much effort on so many features but what is the absolute minimum and how do you validate it against your assumptions.
Makes you think about all the things you did in the past, was it really necessary to build all that ... hmmm...
