Historia
Near an isolated mansion lies a beautiful garden. In this garden grow luscious flowers, shady trees...and a collection of precious “butterflies” - young women who have been kidnapped and intricately tattooed to resemble their namesakes. Overseeing it all is the Gardener, a brutal, twisted man obsessed with capturing and preserving his lovely specimens.

Yawn
Revisado: 07-31-20
The male narrator was terrible. The story was also ridiculous. Completely unrealistic and a little bit offensive. They get kidnapped and raped but somehow they LIKE their captors? Awful book. I wish I could get the last 9 hours of my life back

Moving story about addiction but the cookie cutter ending and the rubbish conclusion of the police case is annoying.

Historia
In the 70,000 years that modern human beings have walked this earth, we've come a long way. Art, science, culture, trade - on the evolutionary food chain, we're real winners. But, frankly, it's not exactly been plain sailing, and sometimes - just occasionally - we've managed to really, truly, quite unbelievably f--k things up. From Chairman Mao's Four Pests Campaign to the sinking of the Titanic; from the American Dustbowl to the world's leading superpower electing a reality TV mogul as President...it's pretty safe to say that, as a species, we haven't exactly grown wiser with age.

Brilliant choice of narrator. Very interesting book: it will be interesting to see how the future of the world plays out now that we’ve been effectively warned that if we continue doing what we’re doing, we will not have learnt anything from history.

We are constantly bombarded with inaccurate, contradictory and sometimes misleading information - until now. Ben Goldacre masterfully dismantles the dubious science behind some of the great drug trials, court cases and missed opportunities of our time. He also shows us the fascinating story of how we know what we know, and gives us the tools to uncover bad science for ourselves.

This book will tell you all you need to know about how to read and interrogate studies, statistics and academic advancements. I really liked the narrator and would recommend this book to all people who consider themselves academic, scientific or interested in the science of medical misreporting.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Besides the title, this book has nothing much to talk about. In stead of telling me why this book will change your life, rather tell me practical things I can implement to change my life. Don’t know what the hype was about. He sounds like a prick that we should never take advice from.

I’d like to call myself an Atwood fan but I struggled to really like the characters and the layout and the draaaaaging on. Theoretically a nice book but not crazy about the length and the plot twist is pretty obvious

Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.
