REALLY?? I mean, REALLY!?? The plot was thin enough to figure out by the third chapter, then throw in GHOSTS, and MAGICALLY, trained DOGS that can open doors and UNDERSTAND complicated, wordy dialog and commands, for God's sake...How much are we expected to believe?? And by the way, did ANYONE worry about what happened to Mike's cat, Noodle, who disappeared conveniently after the first few chapters, when all the focus turned to GHOSTS and DOGS and RAPISTS. WHAT ABOUT THE CAT??? Solve THAT mystery before I read another insipid book by Ms. Michaels, AGAIN!!

I really enjoyed this book and finished it in one sitting. What I do not understand is the author's need to bring in political statements that seemed superfluous to the story and were a HUGE turn-off for me as they just seemed to be thrown in there to appeal to a LEFT-LEANING audience, rather than an important ingredient to the story. HOW ANNOYING!!

I have been on a kick of listening to books about the bands of the 80s and having read "The Heroin Diaries," I was well acquainted with Motley Crue's shenanigans with drugs, sex, and crazed behavior from that. This book was more of the same, although I was not only hearing from Nikki, but Vince, Tommy, and, most surprising of all, Mick, whose observations I thought were the most thoughtful and least narcissistic than any of the other three. I loved his down to earth and wacky humor, and laughed out loud many times when he seemed to cut through the crap the others seemed to be throwing down his way. Too bad there weren't MORE of his comments as it would have improved the book mightily! It was a fun book to read.

I loved this great collection of sweet memories of "Speck" and his antics which seems so familiar to me as they closely mimic the very behaviors of the many dogs who have stolen my heart over the years. Reading this book bought each of those great and very naughty doggos back to life!

I truly enjoyed this backstage peek into the events and people who took part in the rise and fall of Van Halen in the late 1970s to mid 1980s. I was never a fan of David Lee Roth and that era of the band, being more interested in the "Van Hagar" times and songs. However, hearing about this earlier period WAS fascinating, indeed. This was a great read!

After all the hype surrounding the release of this book, I was anxious to get down to it. I was surprised to find the Prince actually reading it himself, and that was the only annoying thing about it, although it really wasn't THAT big of a deal, it was just his stream-of-consciousness read could sometimes be a little off-putting. It was a fascinating listen to hear the Prince's side of the story and it is certainly a tragedy. I could not imagine being such a warm person as he seems to be, obviously his mother's son, entirely, and having to live in that ice bucket of a family. Thank heaven he was able to find his way out with the love of his life and snag a bit of happiness for himself. I applaud him for snatching it and getting out. The truth makes so much more sense now than what has been put out there by the press...and the palace. The epilogue and final tribute to the Queen was so heartfelt and poignant, I cried, as it reminded me of saying goodbye to my own parents and grandparents. May Prince Harry enjoy many more blessings in his life of freedom away from the coldness of that family. He has learned there is so much more to life than a crown.

I did not think I was going to like this book very much but then, I got hooked. Maybe it was because Jeff Daniels has that silky voice that seems to draw people to do almost anyone to do things for them, (a good trick to keep in mind for later government mind control exercises) or if the story was so compelling, or it was just the right combination of both. I began to look forward to settling down every evening with Paul to hear what he had to say next. He has a folksy kind of charm that kind of reminds me of my dad. Very self-deprecating, with a cool , calculating exterior that could often be interpreted as uninterested, even uncaring, which he never was. This facade masked a boiling soul struggling with what ways he might change some of those inequities he saw in everyday life . So were born "The Hole in the Wall Camp" for Sick Kids, Neumann's Own Brand of salad dressings and barbeque sauces that target money for the summer camp and other charitable giving programs.

As a retired inpatient Drug/Alcohol program supervisor and therapist, I worked on the other side of the desk from addicts as described in this audio-book. Of course, I never had the pleasure of treating a rock and roll icon, but Nikki Sixx's story was a very familiar one that I have heard many times. People will think that only rock stars go to such extremes as shooting drugs in their necks, feet, and other more, intimate areas, but in intravenous heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine addicts, it can be quite common as the veins in the arms and hands collapse. It was heart-warming to hear the the success that Nikki has enjoyed in finally committing to recovery and actually turning his life around, and that his band mates have followed. I loved the music of Motley Crue for years before I knew the whole story, and knowing that their story now includes recovery only makes it even more enjoyable!

I simply could not finish this book! It was terrible in one word. In two words, it was terribly boring!! I really enjoy books about Hollywood and I am not immune to juicy gossip, but this book, which was read by a narrator who seemed to be reciting the ingredients on a cracker package, seemed so dry that the interesting facts about the building's history were lost in the irritating drone that presented information like a recipe card! ( probably the reason for the cracker ingredient monotone). I will be returning it, unfortunately.

I read the book "Clue" about the kidnapping about 50 years ago, when I was in high school and was enthralled by the kidnapping story. At that time, I never thought that Hauptmann was the guilty party. The man who left him with the money, and died in Germany, always seemed to be the likely candidate to me. I went on to read Anna Lindbergh's books and learn more about the Charles Lindbergh, who always seems an odd duck with his involvement in the "America First" movement. However, if the things revealed in this book are true, even the simple things such as playing practical jokes on people while searching for his missing son, let alone being responsible for his actual murder, make him nothing less than a monster.
