I'm smirking as I write this

Someone give the author a dictionary. The author couldn't think of any other word than "smirk". "A whole lot of smirking going on in this book", I said as I grimaced.
The premise is lame and doesn't make sense. You absorb peoples' personalities if you don't have a strong will? Boring. I'm not going to waste more money and time with this series.
Also the narrator had problems pronouncing gesture, gesturing, gestures.
