Piper was hired to be Oliver's assistant 5 years ago. She quickly became the assistant to all of the guys. She knows what they need and/or want before the guys do. She has been in love with Ollie for the past 3 years.

Ollie is pretty oblivious to Piper's feelings for him. He is aware of all she does to keep him on track, he is also aware of what she wears while at work. He keeps her in the assistant box, at an arm's length, not allowing himself to even think of Piper in any capacity except assistant. This certainly frustrates Piper causing her to threaten quitting frequently.

Then it happens. Ollie decides to make a purchase that Piper and the other guys have advised him not to. Ollie is lost and trying to find a new identity through purchasing a soda company. When he won't listen to Piper she finally hands in her resignation letter...that has been sitting in her desk drawer just waiting to be signed.

Ollie realizes just how much he depends on Piper, she is actually his muse. Her absence is affecting his ability to write the new scenes for Warriors of Easton. He finds her at Buttered Up and discovers that Piper has been very busy in her time off. She has created a camp for city children. Ollie begins spending time with Piper in a capacity that he never dreamed. He has also set Drew Ryan straight as to his role in Piper's life.

The story of Ollie and Piper coming together is amazing. We all knew it was coming but the way Erin made it happen is wonderful. Lili Valente and Jason Clarke were the narrators for this book. I found Lili Valente's work to be a little broken, pauses in odd locations. I'm not sure if this is how she recorded it or perhaps just how her recordings came together, but sometimes it was distracting. Jason Clarke's narration was fantastic! I would listen to a book just to hear his voice.

Victoria (Tori) Kramer is a veterinarian from Iowa in New Orleans to visit her best friend. She meets Josh Landry while he is bartending. There is some real chemistry between them but how could she possibly make a long-distance relationship work? But the chemistry… Josh and Tori strike a deal: no exchanges numbers or addresses, they will meet again at this same bar in exactly 1 year to see if the chemistry is still there.

Josh Landry is a hard-working bayou boy. He works at his family’s tour boat company in Autre, LA while bartending in New Orleans a few nights a week. Though he is a lady’s man, he has been celibate for year. His is from a family with huge love stories and he knows Tori is meant for him.

One year later, Tori is back in the Big Easy. She is not just looking for Josh, she is in town for her best friend’s wedding! Tori goes to the bar where she is supposed to meet James 1 year later. She sees him, walks up to him and kisses him! Or at least she thinks it is James. Turns out, she kissed her best friend, Andrew, in front of Andrew’s fiancée. Did I mention, Paisley, Andrew’s fiancée, dislikes Tori? This kiss is the breaking point for Paisley. Tori tries to explain that she thought she was kissing Josh, but nobody believes her. Now Tori is on a mission to find him.

When Tori finds Josh, it is obvious the chemistry is still there. Tori explains what happened and asks Josh to be her pretend boyfriend for the wedding festivities. Of course, Josh agrees! What a great excuse to stay glued to Tori for a few days and help her fall in love with the bayou. Now it seems Andrew is developing cold feet. Did Tori’s accidental kiss awaken feelings in Andrew that he has hidden for years? Is Tori’s chemistry with Josh strong enough for a relationship to last?

Narrated by Amanda Stribling and Neill Thorne. I personally love when there are two narrators. I think it helps hold my attention a little better. Neill does a good job with adjusting for different character voices. Amanda is fabulous! I am particularly fond of the snarkiness in her voice when she is portraying Paisley.

Getting Off Easy is part of Erin Nicholas’ Boys of the Big Easy series.

James Reynaud is a firefighter, a lady’s man, a jazz musician and a fixer. If someone has a problem, they know they can turn to James for help.

Harper Broussard is new to New Orleans. She grew up in France, her family emigrated to Canada and she moved to New Orleans on her own. She is a linguistics professor who loves to spend her down time reading romance novels. She is very intrigued by the man, James, who lives across the hall from her. Though she finds him attractive she feels she is too old to have a relationship with him.

Imagine Harper’s surprise when she hears a knock on her door and find James with an olive tree on the other side. James inherited this tree from a friend who passed away. Since he works long hours, he asks Harper to help him keep this tree alive. Then comes a lizard, a drunk woman and finally, a dog. Harper finally admits she has feelings for James. She is prepared to act on these feelings…until James is called into work for a warehouse fire. The next time James knocks on her door she is prepared for the night they missed out on. Unfortunately, when she opens the door, she finds James holding a baby! Where did this baby come from? Who left him? Is James the father?

This story is not just about finding who this baby belongs to, but the journey James and Harper take to find themselves. Of course, it’s an HEA with a fantastic ending!

The narrator was Ryan West. He did a fantastic job! He had just a hint of a Louisiana accent. He kept me engaged in the story, made me feel like I was in the south and was able to do a great job differentiating the character voices.

Dana Doucet is a widow with two young daughters. Her husband had died while serving in the military. She is a member of a single parent support group that has developed into a family unit. Through this support group’s family events Dana meets Logan Trahan. Logan’s brother is also a member of the support group.

Logan Trahan is a bar owner/bartender. He has been interested in Dana since he first saw her at the support group family event. He asked her out multiple times, always being turned down. One night while working at his bar Dana walks in. She has one thing on her mind: a hot, steamy one night hook-up with Logan.

A few weeks later Dana realizes this one-night stand has just taken a turn…she is pregnant. Logan is over the moon! Not only does he have strong feelings for Dana, but he is also excited to be a father! Dana allows Logan to become part of not only her life, but also a significant part of her daughter’s lives, as well.

Without giving anything away, I will say this book does end in a happily-ever-after. The ending certainly put a huge smile on my face. This is an Erin Nicholas book so I was 99% sure how this story would end, but I did not expect it to happen the way it did. I loved it! This is also why I love Erin Nicholas books. The Epilogue left me wanting more Dana and Logan.

The narrator was Ryan West. He did a fantastic job! He had just a hint of a Louisiana accent. He kept me engaged in the story, made me feel like I was in the south and was able to do a great job differentiating the character voices.
