Historia
After dying and being reborn into a world that's built like a video game, Jim has found himself stuck in a very old-world style new-player zone for low-level adventurers. Unfortunately, the zone fell out of use centuries ago, and no one told the monsters they were supposed to take it easy on the Noobs. Even worse, the only new player around is Jim. Jim has been given an opportunity, and he'll do his best to take advantage of it.

slow at first but does get you hooked
Revisado: 01-08-24
I'm not usually in to litrpgs. however I need find myself hooked on this series. I would have preferred less character sheet checks but I understand that it is part of building up Jim. I think what I enjoyed most bout this world is how the author brings in and ties other genereas into his story. for example the cross over between cartoons, tv shows, and movie, though star wars references are the biggest ones. I enjoyed it that I've gone through the series twice now and am waiting for book 8

a Trans story that is beautiful
Revisado: 07-26-23
it's hard enough trying to navigate life as a teenager, then you add being Trans with no support at home even more so. if that wasn't enough for Danny the universe then throws her more by making her a superhero. April daniels doesn't sugar coat the challenges of being a teenage Trans, but she does show just how freeing life can be when we except and love ourselves.

so inconsistent
Revisado: 06-06-23
I get the want to modernize stories of the past but to do so inaccurately not only takes away from the stories but insults the culture and heritage the stories come from. the inaccurate stories makes me question the information give in between them.

irritating narrative and badly translated
Revisado: 04-28-23
I enjoy anything to do with ancient greece and find it extremely irritating when acient greece and rome mythology/names are mixed up. Aristophanes was born in 450 bc in Athens. of the four plays in this book the first was written is the peace in 422 bc and the latest written was the frogs in 405 bc. furthermore each of these plays deals with the political atmosphere of the time. so the gods would then be greek gods and not Roman gods. because of the wrong translation for the gods it takes away from the overall points of the play. it would have also been nice if multiple people had been reading the plays instead of one person.

Best known for his tales of mystery and the macabre, Poe was one of the earliest American practitioners of the short story and is considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre. more like history of ancient Egypt
Revisado: 03-28-23
over all the book was interesting. though it would be more accurate to title it a history of ancient Egypt. the biggest annoyance that I had with the book was the deliberate change of title from pharaoh to king. yes I know Pharoah translates to King but to me it washes the history by calling a Pharoah king. after all we don't say emperor Julius even though Ceasar is Latin for emperor.

Historia
This is George Dasent's classic collection of Scandinavian folklore. This is not about Norse mythology per se; so if you are looking for tales of Odin, Loki, and Freya etc., you will have to look elsewhere. Rather, this is an anthology of folk tales, similar to the Grimm Brothers', or Campbell's Popular Tales of the West Highlands. All of the usual suspects are in place, including giants, trolls, witches, evil step-siblings, magical boons and tasks, and anthropomorphic animals.

just another English collection
Revisado: 02-20-23
this collection of stories is falsely title. instead of Norse fables it's English fables. under different circumstances it would be fine however I was expecting Norse stories such as those of Odin, Thor, loki ect. what makes this worse is this is pretty much the same connection of stories I just listened to under a title of English fairytales
