Worst story of the series

Since when did Georgie get so entitled and non- thinking? It was hard to get through this book.
She used to be such a considerate character, now thinks she knows better than everyone and doesn't consider others before interjecting her thoughts about every thing!
And the hand wringing and whining for her husband at every turn. Most exasperating.

Sweet story ick narrator

This is a very formula story, sweet like cotton candy and the narrator ruined it. She sounds like a child which made the small spicy bits very disconcerting.
This would be a nice book to have in print with imagined voices because this one is not where it's at.

I couldn't finish

If you like heroines who are stubborn and stupid, this is the story for you.
I can't count how many times I wanted to throw this book, and had it been a physical copy, I would have. Perhaps the age of the fmc is the reason she behaved like a spoiled and petulant child. The way she disregards advice from those who know the land, and unwittingly runs into danger expecting to be saved --- it's more than I can stomach as a reasonable adult.
The narrator has a pleasant voice, but even that couldn't get me to see this one to the end.
I picked up all the books on the series, preparing to binge them all while included with membership - I'll be sending them back.

A great story of second chance love

Wow! A great story about finding yourself and learning to live again after surviving the wreckage of a marriage.
Situation was relatable and the characters were real. Doubts and insecurities that people have weren't made light of.
I'll definitely read another story by this author.

I was happy, excited, peeved, and all other feels during this story. I enjoyed it more than the first book as it was sweeter, but just as steamy. Worth the read!

Flipped script! Hi EQ male mc low EQ female mc

Get that woman a therapist! That's what I thought throughout most of the story. The female mc suffers from an inability to communicate, abandonment issues, and people pleasing to a fault as well as languishing under the need for parental approval - so completely relatable.
The story touched on how difficult it can be as a POC in European centric areas and the daily masking and denying part of yourself to fit in, not because you want to, but because not doing so is exhausting in other ways.
Even though I wanted to shake some sense into the fmc, I really enjoyed this story.

Great story and wonderful narrating

The characters are so enjoyable! I loved the parts with the grannies and the narrator did an excellent job with Caribbean and Ghanian accents. The family dynamics were so real and relatable.
The main characters relationship was also genuine and didn't have that kind of fake - only found in book - type issues. Both Henry and Cara had past experiences shaping their present.
Loved every bit of this. Only suggest listening at 1.5 speed.

Great story and 1 good narrator

I loved this book and the female narrator. The male narrator was so bad, terrible accents and speaking style, that it detracted from the enjoyment of the book. The only saving grace is that most of the book is narrated by the female which made it easier to listen.

Great story Terrible narrator

Sweet story that's fully in keeping with previous stories by Ms. Diamond. It was ruined by the robotic narrator. I've heard better text to speech in an automated phone tree.
I suggest reading the kindle book as this audio does it no justice.
