Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

what a profound way to push why all the lies of humanity are "good"
Revisado: 03-13-25
bullcrap way to verify that all the horrible lies we perpetuate on humanity are a "good" thing. what a load of crap. but hey- at least they ventured into both sides of the arguement pretty soundly and i was super impressed that a story far left leaning actually brought up the evolution hoax and the damage it done- that alone was worth the listen, if not shortly lived.

Historia
Two decades ago, Jedi clans clashed in service to feuding lords. Sickened by this endless cycle, a sect of Jedi rebelled, seeking to control their own destiny and claim power in service of no master. They called themselves Sith. The Sith rebellion failed, succumbing to infighting and betrayal, and the once rival lords unified to create an Empire...but even an Empire at peace is not free from violence.

intentionally tainted with "woke" narrative
Revisado: 01-20-23
after watching the Visions series, I was looking forward to this book, and for the most part, the writing was great- BUT, like with all things being destroyed by the woke narrative, this story is no exception. i was immediately irritated by the jacked up grammar when they decided to use "pronouns" for one of the main characters, and then the hits just kept coming with forced objectives including toxic masculinity and an over-saturation of girl power... and then there's the clear direction of there no longer being a difference between good and evil- for both the empire and Jedi have become power-hungry, and now the evil Sith are distinctly being persuaded to take the "high-ground" (or is it middle ground now? ) ... if I'd known this was coming with a healthy dose of modern age BS, I would've made a hard pass... as it looks like I'm going to have to do with ANY AND ALL NEW DISNEY STAR WARS PROPERTIES. FREAKING SHAME, being as I'm an original super fan. All good things must come to an end, I guess. There needs to be a warning label on any and all WOKE INSPIRED CRAP! Ugh. that is all. proceed with caution!

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

was not aware the writer was a God hater
Revisado: 05-27-21
as usual per many disillusioned artists of this world, this fella clearly not only does not believe in God but chose to express it in such a way that was so offensive, it ruined what was an enjoyable ride up until then. this world is dismal enough without some boo-hoo yahoo hater writer ruining my attempt to take a hiatus from reality with hatred towards the Creator I owe everything to. so trust me... this is worth a skip with all the other worthy titles out there!

what in the literal HELL
Revisado: 05-27-21
if EVER there was a living nightmare- this existing piece of darkness truly was it. what a deeply vile, insatiably evil human being. it's amazing, with monsters like this being born, that any of us manage to make it to adulthood. i never realized how many murderers were in existence and my heart breaks for how many lives each one devours. Ugh.

Historia
The epic and highly anticipated conclusion to the listener-favorite series that had countless Audible listeners (and employees) hooked from the very first Bob - featuring, as always, a flawless performance from the inimitable Ray Porter. Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble. They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct.

just ... wow
Revisado: 07-23-19
i teared up at the end, mostly because a wonderful story had ended. this was a really wonderful listen, even though i didn't always "get" some of the technological jargon- this writer is either really smart, does some amazing research before a book or just "wings it" very well- or, all of the above. either way- treat yourself to this series. you won't regret it!

the intellect of this book almost scared me off at first, almost like the author was trying too hard to be einstein ... but i stayed the course and was rewarded with a fine and addictive sci-fi adventure!

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Revisado: 04-19-15
Honestly, it wasn't the best narrator I have ever heard, but the story was great, the narrator did well, mostly, with voices for different characters and it kept me interested enough to binge listen for a solid 3 days until the story was complete, and that's pretty good for me being a very busy fella!

Even the title is a metaphor!
Revisado: 02-05-09
Although this short story is in fact well written and well read, the story itself was nothing more than a string of metaphors of future possibilities with no real direction, plot or even any plausible point or meaning that can leave one going "Hmmmm!". In essence, I simply did not get much out of this short journey, up to and including entertained, I'm afraid.
