It doesn't take long into this book to feel your heart break for this bug-studying, kind-hearted and incredibly under-exposed nerd and to realize, quite clearly, why he is this week's grease spot. In fact, you will find yourself increasingly amazed that he wasn't suicided (or mercifully collected by the Lord) years ago.

Apparently, someone tossed the pages of this manuscript on the publisher's floor. They were scooped up and read into a recorder.

The man spend years talking to the poorest and "forgotten" people in America - black-white-hispanic-Somali- everybody. FIVE Main Take-aways: (1) All of the crime and poverty of the blacks is due to white racism (2) Factories left towns BECAUSE and whenever a black got elected as mayor (3) Whites fled towns where factories left town because regardless of how poor they were, they could afford to move while blacks could not (4) the few whites that could not move out and are in the same dire straits as blacks are drug-addled, uneducated prostitutes and sex offenders who have been united by Trump's racist rhetoric and (5) "front-row" white people, like the self-accused author, are the cause of all grief in black America must do more than just Affirmative Action for a few. As a minority person, I was deeply offended by this book.

Savage goes in search of God using nothing more than his predetermined clues and finds a less than demi-god that he hopes won't hold much against him. ....Sad!

The only name this narrator could pronounce was TRUMP. It is amazing. Is he from Mars? How could he be from US and not have heard all these names pronounced daily in the "Main Street Media?" I blame the production manager. Who is this Twit?

So who said he was a comedian?

Anyone reading these reviews would think that Sedaris is a stand-up comic whose skits hit the mark only 50% of the time, at best. Sedaris is an ESSAYIST – a person who has the capacity to see, and grab, every single bit of truth that comes at him [they come at a fast pace every day to everybody] and who is willing [despite disclosures of self that may be embarrassing] and able [this one can write!] to share those truths. A Truth can trigger any one or more of the wide range of emotions that human beings are capable of, which is why each of Sedaris’ essays may trigger Laughter, or Tears, or Introspection, or Sadness, or Embarrassment, or Pride, or Anger, or Disgust, or…..
